Bourbon & Breaks Mix Vol. 2

I was fortunate enough to get invited to play at Mike Diesel's Birthday Bash in St. Pete Florida, on February 2nd, 2025. My set time was 4AM, not ideal for those of us who aren't night owls. So, I decided to recreate the set. With an hour to play so much good music, I had to move through the tracks quicker than I like to. Most of the music is new music. I started the set off with a late 90's classic, from Spacemen, Communion. From there it is all new releases which fall mostly in the electro category. We start off about 135 BPMs and then move down to about 130 BPMs. Thanks to Mike Diesel for giving me the chance to play live, thanks to Lance and The Gang, the staff at the Warehouse for tolerating an Electro set as well.  I had fun playing, even though I did get 2, on-stage requests, while I was playing!! One for Daft Punk, the other for Tiesto!! Umm, the nerve. LOL.

The one, the only, Axel V, or as I call him, "The Legendary Nostalgic Breaks Remixer" popped in, and he didn't hold back. Axel dropped dope beats for our listening pleasure, and it definitely didn't disappoint. I've been practicing my vinyl mixing skills a lot lately. I've recorded a few other vinyl sets, but nothing that I thought was good enough to share with my loyal followers.  I recently scored a massive haul of  Old School Florida Breaks. If you are fan of Florida Breaks from back in the 90s and early 2000's, you are going to love this set. There will be plenty more coming in the future. It takes me a while to get the records in playing shape. They are filthy and grimy. Breaker's Ball

Just someone who has a love for Breaks (almost all breaks but specifically Florida and Louisiana Breaks and Vocal Breaks)...Electro...Trance...Drum&Bass...Dub (the original Dub that was around the Tampa scene from the 90's and early 2000's...not the new Dub that these kids think is the shit)...Trip-Hop...E-Hop...and a few others. Was HEAVILY involved (to put it lightly...no pun intended but pun intended) in the Tampa/Orlando scene from the late 80's thru around 2007 or so...until the scene changed or was forced to change...but this shit is in my blood!!! I guess like they say...Blood in...Blood out!!! Had an iconic and well known house in South Tampa that was called "The House On Stilts"...it was the only house in the subdivision that was up on stilts like a beach house. And if you were in the scene...odds are you've swung thru at some point for one or more of the parties...Lol!!! If so...hit me up and tell me about it...I love hearing the stories because MAN O' FUCKING MAN...THOSE WERE THE DAYS!!! Best times of my life...and I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat...I mean breakbeat!!!

So, they call me a DJ, but in my mind, I haven't earned that title, yet. In my world, I am just a regular dude who has always loved all kinds of music. I never ventured to the playing side of the music scene. I was the guy with 2 tape decks(cassettes were so cool) sitting on the coffee table, high-speed dubbing for myself and my friends. Electro & Breaks are my preferred genres.  I'm from the Old Skool Era when the only music choices were Trance, House, and Techno. Miami B.A.S.S. and this dude named ICEE changed all of that for me. I leave my older sets uploaded for me, and others to hear and appreciate the progress I've made through my musical journey. The last 5 years have been a lot of fun. I look forward to many more years of expressing myself and feelings through bent soundwaves. I appreciate you being here and supporting me on my Journey for the Love of B.A.S.S.  #OneLove P. L. U.
