The decade is most remembered by big hitters like Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Duran Duran, Michael Jackson and co but there were also some amazing tracks coming out that didn't get as much attention as them. This mix aims to cover a bit of that ground, with tracks coming from USA, Japan, France, Germany and the UK crossing synth pop, cold wave, techno and plenty more."

Whats your favourite minimal record?
One of my favourites is Erik Satie - Gnossiennes 1–5, feels like each track is all about creating a space for the notes.

Whats your favourite 80's record?
At the moment, I love the The Second Album by Suicide. Imagine disco meets shuffle meets cold wave.

Whats your most prized record in your collection?
Right now it would be, Gray – Shades Of… 

As your EP is called 'Expressions', what is your favourite expression? 
Moving.

What one piece of studio equipment could you not live without?
There is a lot of answers for this but I guess it would have to be an extension cable as it powers everything I do. I need electricity!

What was the first moment you realised that you wanted to be a producer?
Immediately after I graduated in June 2009, I realised I wanted to make music. 

If there was one person you could get in the studio with you would it be and why?
Mozart, I'd love to see what he would do with modern day equipment. I wouldn't want to work with him, i'd just like to see what he makes.

How does the creativity of working as an illustrator filter in your music?
I'm moving into Art Direction, I enjoy creating a world for the music. With the Mirror Image record there are two videos coming out which give the record more of a visual reflection than the EP did. I'm looking forward to making more videos and collaborating with others on different ideas. 

What was it like putting together your album?
Frustrating, exciting, liberating, hard, fun, challenging

How did it feel to finally have it completed?
Great, it was good to let go of those ideas and move on to new music.

What can we expect from you in the future? 
Live shows, colour, moving image and collaboration.

Jesse Fahnestock produces music as 10:40 and as one half of Jezebell with Darren Bell. His productions take in dubby downtempo, slicing electronic funk, and balearic bliss-outs. His bond with Paisley Dark was formed over a shared love of psychedelia, rock dynamics and dub effects, in evidence on edits of the Beta Band, Spacemen 3, The Dirty Filthy Mud and Julian Cope done for the label. He came of age in the eclectic clubs of early-90s London and DJ’d in San Francisco and the UK before settling in Stockholm.

It was long overdue but we’re excited to finally present you the next episode of the Reels podcast series! Behind the wheels of steel this time is Sebastian Rebig, a true house music lover and proper vinyl junkie who owns more than 9000 records. Sebastian hails from Mönchengladbach (in the famous Ruhr region) and has been playing since 2000 in various locations around Germany. He has caught the ears of many passionate listeners, including Session Victim who have since then invited Sebastian to spin at some of their parties. Thanks to his record selection, deejaying skills and deep knowledge of music, Sebastian Rebig is the perfect example of a „DJ’s DJ“.
