"In all honesty, dreaming for me is usually a pretty mundane affair.  Pedestrian activities like going to work or heading down to the local shop for a pint of milk are regular features in my dreams.  Sometimes there might be some short-lived conflict involved, maybe an argument with a friend or a frustrating encounter with a photocopier.  Seriously, my dreams are dull. When I was a bit younger I used to have regular, intense nightmares, usually brought on through stress.  But even then these nightmares were deeply rooted in reality.  I've never had fantastical, bizarre dreams.  Only banal repetition of my everyday life."

after a brief dry spell, dip your toes back into the water with the second installment of DMNT’s deep bath. this mix is brought to you by The Social Lover, a moniker under which Ruben Verkuylen plays at bars, clubs and his two monthly radioshows on both Red Light Radio and Operator Radio. besides that, Ruben is actively involved with the two music labels BAKK Records and Rubber which he runs with Nic Borst (Steve Motto) and Thomas van Linge (Randstad). 

the mix is an early-hours masterclass of the type we're very fond of, deftly stitching together ethereal meditations with blissed-out percussive jams and a few moodier trax for good measure. we've been loving the mix ourselves and hope you do too!

Deep Bath #4: I•HATE•THIS•FILM

Lather up and slide into DMNT’s fifth Deep Bath.

Melodies Souterraines (and its affiliated labels) had flown under DMNT radars until last year’s ‘Q/R’ compilation - a seven-track offering of burbling, jerking synth muzak scrubbed up and repackaged with a smart printed cover. A couple of (cryptically alphabetised) releases, a much-needed Zru Vogue retrospective, and a superb Cabaret du Ciel reissue later, label boss Saulk Regurk continues to stake out a singular sonic universe.

For this instalment, Saulk has run a Bath’s worth of eurosynth jammers, screwball psych, brake-slamming brukage and even a warped reboot of a French hip hop classic. If that sounds like an earful, Saul himself is on hand to guide you through its many surprises.
