Poor Theory

My 1,5h live set from a Helsinki-based club called Tanner. I was a visiting artist for the local Yalla collective who host nights here regularly.

This was both fun and challenging: keeping things interesting but steady enough for over 90 minutes in a live setting, with a new crowd and without a soundcheck was something I don't do very often. But I'm glad I did now and got the chance to share my music with these lovely people 💙

I blended house and techno grooves with some MENASA (Middle East, North Africa and South Asia ) flavours. I feel that my performance was quite genre-fluid and had a good amount of improvisation & mixing things live.

Sailing somewhere between dubby grooves, hypnotic rhythms and sweet analog basslines 🎛️

Gear used: Elektron Octatrack, Digitakt, Syntakt, Analog Heat mk2, Erica Synths DB-01, Korg Monotribe and FMR RNC

I met Minna Lipasti at bandcamp two years ago. It took a while and then we thought it would be cool to make a piece together. We succeeded and here is the result. This two person band is called Glarea Sonos as we live in the area where a ridge of gravel is a common sight. Minna takes care of vocals and I try to play some instruments. Enjoy!
