Discos Horizontes finds its roots in Central Chile. In Horizonte Del Mar to be exact. As there are huge forest fires going on as we speak - we are talking about the biggest fires in the history of Chile, probably the history of mankind - we dedicate this Red Light Radio show to the people who are fighting against these raging fires. 
The land, the trees, houses and animals are burning. The reason of all this? The long term policy of the government of Chile planting Eucalyptus and Pine trees for money. Paying their own citizens little money to take away the native trees to plant wood for the cellulose industry. To earn more money. 
Taking away the native forest means destructing the ecosystem so nature can't heal itself anymore.
It is time for change, big change! Please support the movement of the regeneration of mother earth, of bringing back the native forests all around the world.

Hola hermanos y hermanas, for our fifth episode of Los Piratas de la Luz - recorded on August 15th 2017 - we digged in some other crates then we usually dig in for these shows. We started our morning trip with some slow balaeric kinda jams from all over the world before heading into 80's Jamaican territory. We stuck around in the Carribean for a fair bit before moving to Africa to drop some more uptempo dancefloor business. We almost started a party. We also snuck in a great dubby track from Holger Czukay - who sadly passed away a few days ago. May he rest in peace.
We hope you enjoy the mix as much as we did doing the show. Abrazo!

Bereket is 17 years old and living in the Netherlands for a year now. He built his own krar, a traditional string instrument from Eritrea. We welcome him in the studio, playing and singing live while we talk and play music. 

There are many new neighbours that had to fled their homes. In Syria, in Eritrea, in many other countries till this very moment. We think it's important to show how their culture can enrich ours.

The first two hours of our All Nighter at the Pandora Lounge of Tivoli Vredenburg on Saturday 10/11/18 at Le Guess Who Festival. Unfortunately the recording failed after that, but we assure you it was one hell of a party. Our outernational goodies were received with the utmost pleasure by the open-minded dancing crowd. Thanks everybody for building such a great party with us.
