With the help of some good homies, I strapped a sound system to the top of my van and drove it straight to City Hall in downtown LA to join the hundreds of protesters. My goal was to amplify black voices and bring music to The People. 
The van was used to give speeches by the leaders there, and let the voices of many be heard. Afterwards, threw down some tracks with with some revolutionary speeches and poems laid over it ~ I could be more pleased with how well they paired.  Two of my favorite things coming together, beautifully inspiring those around through sound and dance. 
As the interview said in the introduction of the interview with Angela Davis, "If this programing results in nothing more than better informed but unchanged opinion, it will be worth our attention”.

This is a mix I must have made somewhere mid 90ies and were already classics back then (tape is called De Mijnes Classics II). Most of the tracks are still tracks that I like, which is not always the case with old mixes. Influenced by my time in iT Amsterdam mostly these vocal tracks were the tracks that coloured my nights and shaped my musical memories
