Ok, @diogosvp is not exactly a new face on the scene… But since we are getting new stuff from him coming out soon, it made sense to post! As you may know Diogo is the Label Manager and A&R of both Discos Extendes and Extended Records and has a new record coming out very soon... On his DJ sets it is pretty evident that the UK culture had a huge impact on him and it is not hard to find stuff such as breaks, bass, uk funky, UKG and so on. 

This particular one was recorded onde day before Christmas Eve, at @outracena, while warming up the dance floor por Piezo, the Italian artist who has already release some material on iconic labels such as Idle Hands, Wisdom Teeth, Nervous Horizon, or is own Ansia. You can find a lot of those UK sounds in this mix, together with some tunes from some of his favorite labels such as Pressure Dome, Of Paradise, T E R R O R, Homemade Sound System, Hooversound Recordings, Timedance or Swamp 81, plus one little twist of a Brazilian funk version of Jingle Bells, turned into UKG by Frazer Ray. Find it somewhere along in these 3h crazy hours of bass music!

Em sua estreia no domínio de Tandera, Tuxe apresenta o seu primeiro single, "MVP". Duas faixas pulsantes, carregadas de energia e prontas para a pista de dança. Flertando com sons gerados por diversão tecnológica misturadas a uma sensualidade etérea, o DJ e produtor apresenta um universo simples de entrega sincera. "MVP", sigla para "Minimum viable product" ou para "Most valuable player", se divide em dois caminhos. "MVP 1" começa definindo o tom trazendo breaks em uma faixa que engloba texturas latinas irreverentes em um ritmo progressivo e incessante. Em uma interpretação única, o DJ e produtor brasileiro e baseado em Berlim GIO eleva os elementos da faixa original em uma sequência ambiciosa de batidas percussivas, trazendo o calor e suor carnavalesco aos ouvidos. Em um segundo momento, "MVP 2" abraça percussões ritmadas e vocais sublimes com uma linha de baixo encorpada. O parceiro de label Guza contribui com outro remix, desacelerando o que acrescenta em detalhe, fruição e experimentação sônica, fechando o ciclo de 4 emoções distintas, impressas em um mesmo padrão de ritmos propulsivos.

In his debut on the Tandera domain, Tuxe presents his first single, "MVP". Two pulsating tracks, full of energy and club ready. Flirting with sounds generated by technological fun mixed with an ethereal sensuality, the DJ and producer presents a simple universe of sincere delivery. "MVP", an acronym for "Minimum viable product" or "Most valuable player", is divided into two tracks. "MVP 1" begins by setting the tone, bringing breaks to a track that encompasses irreverent Latin textures in a progressive and incessant rhythm. In a unique interpretation, Berlin-based Brazilian DJ and producer GIO elevates the elements of the original track into an ambitious sequence of percussive beats, bringing carnival heat and sweat to your ears. In a second moment, "MVP 2" embraces rhythmic percussions and sublime vocals with a full-bodied bass line. Label partner Guza contributes with a second remix for the release, slowing down what he adds in detail, fruition and sonic experimentation, closing the cycle of 4 distinct emotions, imprinted on the same pattern of propulsive rhythms.

Here is another episode of our beloved series EXTENDES MIX!

This time we’ve invited 808xez (@sanxez33) to take the wheel. 808xez is a DJ and producer from Cape Verde, living in Coimbra since 2018. He started his music journey in 2019 staring to be noted in different projects such as FIFTY RECORDS, Rádio Universidade de Coimbra, Rádio Baixa and Roda o Centro. 

In 2024 he starts a grime set, in collaboration with Blue House to promote MC culture in Portugal, giving birth to “Seka Peli Grime Station”, where he invites rappers, producers and djs to present their works in a LIVE format. This had a very important role stamping his style around genres like hip-Hop, Grime, Funk, Jungle and UK Garage.

This particular mix, “Fezada”, tries to expresse all the multiculturalism around Portuguese nightlife connecting different dots around suburban electronic music while paying an homage to communities from Cape Verde, Brasil and Angola, which are the ones closer to João Sanchez heart.

A set full of heat and swing ready for those summer parties right around the corner! Enjoy!

We are already midway across September and silly season is finally over! So now is the time to reveal our next guest on our Extendes Mix series… BLEID (@bleidxyz)

BLEID, is Mariana Freitas, DJ and producer, and one of the faces of the new generation of Portuguese club music. Together with Bruno Gonçalves and Inês Coutinho, they share part of the management and artistic direction of the cultural association “Planeta Manas”, the community radio “Rádio Quântica” and the queer rave “mina”. They have recently released the massive EP “Subliminar”on the label and you can find it on our Bandcamp page! 

In this set, recorded live at @arvi_hdd rave hold at @outracena_lisboa, they present us a full throtle mix around 160BPMS ranging from 4/4 rave madness, to some juke and footwork, combined with some original productions, breaks and even with some unexpected reggaeton breakdowns! A mix that good that proves that their recognition as one of the most prolific artist in the country, and certainly one to keep watching in the future, was never a misjudgement. It’s high summer time and for the new episode of our Extendes Mix we have a super hot return to the booths… Our guest of honour, DJ Nevoeiro (@djnevoeiro)!

DJ Nevoeiro (instagram.com/nevoeiro3000) is know for his musical collage of different genres of dance music, mashing up pop bangers, baile funk or even popular Portuguese music. We can describe him as an expert creator of cavernous environments where the penetrating high notes of pop divas become winged thoughts, and get combined with inflammatory rhythms from both hemispheres. Calling himself “chulona” apotheosis, he comes straight from cyberspace to your spinal cord”

For his mix, he presents us with a selection taken from the guts of the rave’s fifth empire. On it, a section of breaks echoing themes that make us levitate with nostalgia, gets mixed at full speed with footwork, global bass, some of old-timey funk “montagem”, among other sounds to straighten up your spine!

Have fun with this wacky and sweaty mix, and always remember to get hydrated while dancing to it!  👀

Today there’s a new episode of our Extendes Mix! Please welcome Dawn Dani!

From a being in constant reflection and evolution emerges Dawn Dani, the alias of Daniela. From a young age, she honed her ear by jumping from dance floor to dance floor, and it is on these foundations that she now takes her first steps on the storytelling side. Her focus is on recreating the sensations she has always sought to experience through music and offering them to those who need them.

For this mix, she chooses her comfort zone. A wandering between slow-paced beats and fast rhythms, always keeping an eye on the deep and dark mood with a glimpse of hope.

Extendes Mix 10 - Dawn Dani

We are back with our Extended Mix series with a new legend in the making - Maki (@makibreaks) !

Her PR text tells us that “a Maki set is energetic, broad and bass driven fun. With a constant and evolving presence of music throughout her life, many influences ended up combining in a fine taste for electronic music. Her sound is shaped by a deep curiosity for percussion, low-end weight, and genre-defying rhythms.“ TBH we never met her in person, but her amazing taste into bass music, breaks stuff and all kind of derivations on the sound system continuum made us want to connect and ask her for a mix! There’s not many people here in Portugal with an aesthetics that suits our own that well, so this request was a must! Being one of the young faces on the rise on the Portuguese scene, she has already stepped on most of major clubs and festivals. We truly believe in her taste and skills and want to promote her work as well as we can!

About this particular mix she says: “My music taste always gravitates towards percussive and heavy low end elements, which leaves room for a lot of exploration. So, for this mix I wanted to focus on new sounds I’ve been exploring in this realm, like texturised trippy breaks, batida and some dnb, but also, the ever present latin inspired 4x4 and some dubby sounds.”

Hope you guys enjoy the ride. For us Maki is one of the freshest people on the scene and we truly believe she will be able to make it! Dance floor fire on this one! 👀
