@BOYSNOIZERECORDS next project sees @boysnoize rework two tracks taken from Swedish singer-songwriter, producer and label owner @reinelectronic. Our pick is a muscular slab of EBM and a great example of why the two artists are such a fantastic pairing.

Curses, Chinaski, Damon Jee & Darlyn Vlys, Roman Flügel, Hammer, Javi Redondo, Zombies In Miami and TERR are just some of the many artists across both labels who have joined forces to spread this message. The aim is to raise as much relief as possible for two organisations: Ukraine Pride and Dance Deliver. They are dedicated to support Ukraine’s queer and creative communities, all of whom have seen their lives turn inside out since the Russian invasions began on February 24. Livelihoods, families and cultures torn apart. We stand with, send love to, everyone affected by this humanitarian crisis.
Complete with artwork from Ukrainian, Berlin-based multi-disciplinary artist Oksana Demidova, the album will be available on Bandcamp from now and is packed with positive frequencies from some of our favourite and most visionary artist. Full tracklist below. Please help us spread the word.

Supported by the likes of Axel Boman, Ivan Smagghe, Joseph Capriati and more, UFO House vol I was a watershed release, the birth of a micro-genre. Mushroom-fortified acid house with a touch of ketamine wonk, to put things in terms most drug-addled DJs will understand. We must be the spearhead of our own movements, and MEANT is doing that with the forthcoming release of GET CLOSER EP, which has been penned and performed by founder and curator REMAIN as one half of the duo with daWad aka We Are Le Turfu.

This EP features two original tracks from the dance floor-ready pair, as well as a remix from French electronic music legend DJ OIL (R&S, Multi Culti), and is the follow-up to their debut ‘We Are Le Turfu’ EP released on LUMIERE NOIRE in Oct 2024.

With decades of experience under their belts, this second studio effort flawlessly embodies their signature sound & carefully crafted production with this particular raw intensity driven by unpredictable hooks, perfectly matching the avant-garde sound MEANT is renowned for in its 15 year label history. 

REMAIN, on top of being MEANT RECORDS’ founder and curator, is a well-known Rex Club resident, and has a plethora of releases on labels including Throne of Blood, Darkroom Dubs, and Death On Wax. 

daWad was born with music in his blood (pianist mother and his grandfather an organist and harmonizer) and previously co-managed the IRM label which released Traumer’s first records. With releases on KNTRL, La Dame Noir Records, Beachcoma and more, this new release marks his debut on MEANT. Now ready to unveil their machine-only live show, and to hit the road hard - REMAIN & daWad carefully selected those two tracks from their sessions in order to further orient you to the dancefloor whether you hear it at your local club, or in their live set.

Across two mammoth, critically acclaimed compilations Berlin-based Musician and DJ Curses' Next Wave Acid Punx series has shone a blacklight onto the darker side of club music. Featuring tracks from the 1970s right up to the present day made by both musical legends and up and coming talents alike, Curses has expertly threaded the needle between Experimental Pop, Post Punk, EBM, Electro, Techno and more to produce a stunning alternative history of clubland.  

But, as every good digger knows, there's always more gems to uncover and so once again Curses has crowbarred open the electronic music's vaults to bring us four more long forgotten tracks, each one "Revamped" for maximum Dancefloor effect with Curses himself providing 2 edits alongside precision tooled reworks from Melbourne based Stockholm Syndrome and NYC's Andi.  

First up from Curses is his Revamp of Deborah Sasson’s (Carmen) Danger In Her Eyes, a curio from the wildly inventive mid late 80s that saw the American opera singer collaborate with German producers MCL (MicroChipLeague). A European chart topper on its original release, it's long since languished in obscurity but in Curses' hands is now ready to once again add more than a touch of melodrama to dancefloors.  

For his second edit, Curses reworks J.W.B. Hits The Beat's House Fatale, having previously taken a razor to their Body On Body track on Next Wave Acid Punx DEUX. Originally released in 1988, House Fatale is a classic example of just how fast electronic music was evolving back then, bringing together elements of Electro, Freestyle, House and more amongst a riot of samples, all elements Curses retains whilst nudging the tempo and giving the track a harder edge.

Sticking with the same Westside label that gave us House Fatale, Stockholm Syndrome turns his attention to Voyou's Houseman. Or, as it happens, the 1988 edit by LA's Razormaid that first honed its edges for club play and merged the title track with its b-side. The resulting edit rejuvenates this classic slice of late Cold War club music, its pounding beat, portentous strings and the repeated overdriven vocal refrain of Germany Calling perfect for basement clubs today, in Berlin and beyond. 

Finally to complete the EP we have sample-heavy 1988 cut Not Leaving Without Jerry by Belgian duo Marc Borgions & Jo Lijnen aka Philadelphia Five. Originally produced by Luc Van Acker, (better known for his work with the likes of Front 242, Ministry and Revolting Cocks), the track has been handed over to NYC producer Andi, who ups the tempo and hones in on the rhythm section, putting the focus on the staccato drums and throbbing bass line the focal point now and creating a perfect soundtrack for sweat lashed bodies.   Together these four tracks revisit a moment in clubland when the rules were still being written, as Curses explains. "This was a pivotal moment where all genres were still evolving, figuring out what sounds would eventually become staple elements of one another which gave it all this naive, innocent and punk feel. You’ve got Trance arpeggios, those heavy snares of early EBM, chopped vocals in the style of Chicago and NY formative House music all mixed with Electrofunk and percussive Latin freestyle grooves. A time when we were dancing without boundaries, something very much in the spirit of Next Wave Acid Punx.”

Cirkle returns to Sublunar, Sciahri’s label, following the success of "Sonic Surge," with a new EP that showcases both refinement and immense talent. This release encapsulates Cirkle's distinct sound and artistic evolution, offering a rich and immersive sonic journey.

The EP opens with "Shadows of the Past," a track driven by a pulsating, groovy synth line and dynamic drum patterns that propel the rhythm forward. It seamlessly transitions into "Beaten," a dark, hypnotic piece that envelops the listener in a shadowy atmosphere.

The B-side begins with "Shamanic," a track that pays homage to a more classic techno sound while maintaining an irresistible, steady groove. Following this, "The Wall That We Build" offers a more delicate and minimalistic approach, balancing precision and subtlety. The journey concludes with "Tears of Light," an epic and transcendental piece that takes the listener to another dimension.

BCCO Premiere: Cirkle - Shamanic [SUBL018]

The German producer @KikeamRadar returns to @DogsAndVulturesRecords, this time with 'Testament', a ray of light that  manages to keep us afloat through the cold and lack of sun . In his latest work he has managed to take his music to another level, more narrative, reflective and intimate, mixing different influences using old and new synthesizers and analog drum machines and combining them with plug-ins and digital effects.

Acclaimed French band @VoxLow takes on 'In Troubled Times' and really make it their own, in a way only they can . Elegant in its own unique right it takes the original to even higher levels with their trademark bass. We're sure this one's going to have lasting appeal and a track you'll be hearing much more of.

The  EP is completed with other excellent remixes from Nozz and  Montcosmik.

The second installment of @minimood's multidisciplinary fusion series features Die Wilde Jagd (@DieWildeJagd) with an extensive rework of the neo-romantic ’Morgenrot’. The original produced by Sebastian Lee Philipp & Ralf Beck appeared on the Die Wilde Jagd's debut album in 2015 and now this has been revisited by a vast array of diverse remixes by Ancient Methods, CV313, Luigi Tozzi, Roman Flügel, Rude 66, Steve Bug, The KVB, Vactrol Park, and Variant. This gatefold 3x12" vinyl - only release is visually enhanced with intricate hand-drawn artwork including inlay by Dusseldorf based artist Susanne Giring.

Our pick for today is Rude 66 remix turning the original into a dark, primetime, anthemic built on the raw foundation of old school electro bassline.

Ric Piccolo (The man from Pampas)is an Argentine music producer and Dj who explores different genres such as Disco, Wave, House and Rare Grooves with experimental/leftfield concepts.
He is also digger, reworker and remixer of all obscure gems from the Argentine 70’s and 80’s scene with his mix series PampasDiscoShock and his 12” releases series AustralWorks and The Sound Of Pampas.
As a Dj, his style ranges from obscure Disco madness to the most innovative current sounds for the dancefloor. His Freestyle sets are always remembered.

Furor Exótica is an Argentinian Disco/House duo from Buenos Aires, formed in 2013 by the vocalist Viky O. and the producer Ric Piccolo.
Furor Exótica live sets combine jamming vocals with floating rhythms and synthesizers, for a non-stop dancing atmosphere.
