The latest offering from electronic powerhouse @nothingisrealrecords sees label heads Alberto Iovine and Alessandro Fumagalli lay down one of their finest tracks to date while bringing three divergent perspectives to the signature @ModularProject sound, showcasing the raw talent and ingenuity that has become synonymous with the Italian label. 

‘Electronic Disco’, a new wave-influenced heater built around a muscular groove, has been given the remix treatment by three likeminded producers, Curses, Niv Ast, and Cantor. Fusing the sounds and sentiment of classic synth-pop with the rhythms of contemporary dance music, Modular Project continue to forge a bold new sound that is truly their own. 

Opening up the EP, Modular Project’s ’Electronic Disco’ pulls together threads from classic new wave, electro, and contemporary techno to produce an instant classic that is sure to be tearing up dance-floors across the globe as soon as they open up. A masterclass in tension and release, the track builds suspense with glistening arpeggios and rising pads before a heady 4/4 kick takes centre stage, driving the momentum forward as vintage synths and vocoder form a melodic counterpoint to the relentless groove. On his first release for the label, Curses stretches out Modular Project’s ‘Electronic Disco’ into an ecstatic 8-minute workout, expertly weaving in dramatic ‘80s synth stabs and weighty percussion to create a subtle variation on the original. Israeli producer Niv Ast takes the track in the opposite direction, stripping back the central elements to produce an enigmatic take on minimal techno that retains the analogue feel of the source material. 

Closing the EP with a 360-degree spin, @Cantor_music injects a “live” feeling into ‘Electronic Disco’, laying down guitar riffs and lead vocals that place the track’s new wave influences front and centre while breaking down the boundaries between genres, resulting in something utterly unique and wildly original.

Growing up on punk rock and influenced by eccentric alternative sounds of distorted choppy electric guitars and driving bass lines along with rolling drumbeats,
aduti (A Decade Under The Influence) was taken from
a track by american rock band - Taking Back Sunday.

With a decade of playing the guitar and performing in bands, his love for music expanded to DJ ing and exploring the underground, deeper and darker sounds of electronic music, aduti found his leftfield mix of sound from Disco to Techno and everything eclectic in between during his adventures in San Francisco.

aduti got his major break in 2018 at the legendary after party club - Elysium, making debuts with Modec and  Haresh K, alongside the “DICTATORSHIP” crew 
(antype / Ed dix / kubika / Slutski / Xes Xes Loveseat).
Since then, aduti has been regularly invited to play in Pisco Bar, Rex KL, the Crane KL, BATE, Cheong Somm, Jiro KL, Ren, Le Noir, The Iron Fairies, Sinners KL.
