SoCal digger and DJ Juan Izguerra delivers a dope autumn mix for the New Islands series.  Juan is the talent buyer at a Hi-Fi DJ spot and brew pub, Homage Brewing based in LA/Pomona.  He's also making waves in the LA DJ scene with eclectic sets of tasteful jams as well as a monthly radio show on Dublab called Low Profile.   Excited to have him contribute a mix to the series.

From Juan "I put this mix together on a warm Saturday afternoon. I had the weekend off, got comfortable in my apartment, turned on my system and went at it in one go. I started off by playing some fun light hearted tracks then bridged it into a world of italo, synth-pop, and chicago cuts (shout out to @alejandroz for the Thompson Twins tip). I had a lot of fun with this one and stoked to share the various things I've been listening to lately and playing at clubs."

Ever since Oakland's Space Ghost released his LP "Endless Light" to the world, we've been hooked on his unique blend of Lo-Fi House / Boogie which is perfect for both the party and headphone use. We asked Space Ghost to create a mix of what he's been really digging lately and he swiftly presented this mix formally titled "Love Is A Mystery".

"This mix holds some heavy inspiration to me lately in terms of production, genres, feelings, and eras. Expect some early Deep House, a couple of contemporary jams, obscure Boogie, and some secret '90s R&B. In terms of House music, lately I’ve been diving more into the catalogues of Larry Heard and The Burrell Brothers as well as other similar artists. I’ve increasingly become more inspired by the gritty quality of their early productions and I’m looking to harness that deep raw emotion in my own music. The second half of the mix has some odd and obscure tracks I’ve found along the way on the internet and in other DJ mixes. They’re the kind of tracks I hear in a mix and immediately think, “I neeeeed to find out what this song is!” All the tunes in this mix have such amazing unique production as well as this unexplainable deep vibe about them, I hope you can feel it!"

Novi ASC mix dolazi od pomalo misterioznog beogradskog DJ-a Miloša Vukovića. Predstavljen kao neslužbeni (treći) član beogradskog kolektiva Body'n'Balls, odnosno kao ''umirovljeni'' (deep) house DJ, Miloš zadnje godine provodi neumorno skupljajući AOR, soft rock i slične ploče. Mix koji je snimio za ASC nastao je nakon mjeseci i mjeseci priprema, a upravo tako i zvuči - kao glazbeni album, priča koju se sluša od početka do kraja. Kao soundtrack za vožnju u ''grad snova''. A mi kažemo: savršena muzika za ASC jutro!
