Chain of Fools is a song written by Don Covay originally intended for the majestic Otis Redding. It is claimed that the song is an unauthorized rewrite of a gospel song named "Pains of Life" recorded by Rev E Fair & The Sensational Gladys Davis. Covay recorded his demo version of Chain of Fools while singing Gospel with his brothers and sisters. After listening to the demo Jerry Wexler, an Atlantic Records producer, chose to place the song with their rising female star Aretha Franklin in 1967 rather than with Redding as he felt a women’s voice would do more right to the song.

Hi Music lovers,
A favorite track of mine on which I love the "call and response" game  that are playing Keyboard maestro George Duke and Al Jarreau's voice, together with the Funky guitar licks of Jay Graydon !!! .. You can feel the pure friendship that are enjoying these  incredible musicians ! 
Nuff respect to all of them !
I also brought the Funky support from Pete Rock & C L Smooth.
Go Buy the incredibly good "Breaking Away" album, there are lots of other very good tracks on it !
I wanted to give a bit of renewal on this classic tune, in adding my French touch on it, and I hope that you'll like it here, Party people in the house !
