Every once in a while a record comes along which is a little bit special, a record which stands the test of time, bringing the same reaction to the dancefloor now as it did all those years ago, 'Don't You Want My Love' is one of those records. Almost four decades after its original release in 1979, the record has become a favourite with the Glitterbox crowds, creating a seminal moment at Ministry of Sound when David Morales dropped it at the party in March 2017. Now Debbie Jacob's timeless classic lands on Glitterbox Recordings, remastered for digital download in this special package including a re-edit courtesy of disco veteran Dimitri From Paris. The spirit of disco lives on.

The Shapeshifters has become a name synonymous with the Glitterbox sound. Simon Marlin’s previous catalogue with the label includes the sublime ‘When Love Breaks Down’, ‘Try My Love (On For Size)’ and ‘Lola’s Theme Recut’, and as a key resident for the party he has brought his joyous disco-infused house sets to events across the globe. ‘Life Is A Dancefloor’ shows his evolution as an artist, producing a track that features the unmistakable chart-topping voice of CHIC vocalist Kimberly Davis. Arranged by Colin Smith, the glorious instrumentals provided by some of the UK’s finest session players add a depth that takes this record beyond its club beginnings, giving it a truly timeless quality. With its disco influenced sound, expect to hear ‘Life Is A Dancefloor’ at Glitterbox parties and beyond for years to come.

Named King of the Edit since the 1980’s, pioneering Manhattan DJ Danny Krivit’s (aka Mr K) latest delivery instils the title bestowed upon him some 30 years ago. An esteemed selector Danny’s prolific remixing and production capabilities have touched hundreds of records – with his signature flare shaping the New York City sound. Opening the two-track release is Danny edit this summer’s seminal track The Vision’s ‘Heaven’, interweaving a gloriously groovy bassline with Andreya Triana’s vocal to produce an extended, DJ friendly mix that he sent crowds wild with at Dekmental Festival. Up next, Mr K delves a little deeper into the Defected catalogue, trying his hand at The DangerFeel Newbies’ ‘What Am I Here For (Original NDATL Vocal)’. Danny’s stripped back version extends the jazzy, percussive original, as velvety smooth vocals and elegant keys bring this expressive and sophisticated release to a close.

One of Australia’s finest musical exports, Dr Packer returns to Glitterbox for ‘Different Strokes Volume 2’ after the incredible first edition of the series. This first sampler highlights three stellar cuts from the forthcoming LP, showcasing Dr Packer’s expert abilities to produce soulful versions of house and disco essentials. The sampler opens with his remix of Aeroplane’s 2017 ‘Love On Hold’ featuring Tawatha Agee, stripping back the contemporary nu-disco classic, soft chimes and a lilting beat transform the track, while maintaining its irresistible dancefloor capabilities. Up next, Dr Packer turns his hand at an essential from the Defected catalogue, ATFC’s 2001 hit ‘Sleep Talk’ featuring the inimitable vocals of Lisa Millett. Maintaining the vintage flavours of the original, Dr Packer lends his signature disco-tinged flare to the house classic. Finally, Dr Packer’s remix of Eminence’s ‘Give It Up’ featuring Kathy Brown rounds of the release, as cinematic strings and glorious horns give the release a healthy dose of dancefloor drama, destined for Glitterbox dancefloors. If this sampler is anything to go by, ‘Dr Packer's Different Strokes Volume 2’ is set to be a stunning album from one of disco’s brightest stars.
