After the huge crossover success of the original back in 2006, the artist formerly known as Joey Negro, Dave Lee has reworked one of the biggest tracks of his career into an original Disco anthem. Keeping the peak time energy up but injecting more Chic-esque Funk than you can shake your rump to, there was only ever one person who could elevate the original into a modern disco classic. Taka Boom’s powerful vocals still soar away but this time it’s over crisp Clav licks, effortless rhythm Guitar, sublime Piano, and sharp Synth work all underpinned by some sultry disco bass guitar action.
Unlike many crossover hits 'Make a Move on Me' hasn’t been overly remixed, in fact, this is the first remix since it hit the pop chart. Irresistible dancefloor action all round here, an essential Z Records release.

Following two DJ mixes from Dr Packer featuring bonus tracks, the album kicks off with a bonafide classic. Dr Packer’s take on Soulsearcher’s ‘Can’t Get Enough!’ maintains all its most iconic elements, the euphoric vocals and timeless groove given a fresh-sounding elasticity. Another highlight and an album exclusive, ‘Big Love’ from Peter Heller’s Big Love is brim full of Dr Packer’s unmistakeable warmth, cowbell accents giving the groove some bump. Next is Dr Packer’s remix of The Shapeshifter’s evergreen ‘Lola’s Theme Recut’ followed by another album exclusive, Candi Staton’s ‘Hallelujah Anyway’. One of Australia’s finest musical exports, Dr Packer returns to Glitterbox for ‘Different Strokes Volume 2’ after the incredible first edition of the series. This first sampler highlights three stellar cuts from the forthcoming LP, showcasing Dr Packer’s expert abilities to produce soulful versions of house and disco essentials. The sampler opens with his remix of Aeroplane’s 2017 ‘Love On Hold’ featuring Tawatha Agee, stripping back the contemporary nu-disco classic, soft chimes and a lilting beat transform the track, while maintaining its irresistible dancefloor capabilities. Up next, Dr Packer turns his hand at an essential from the Defected catalogue, ATFC’s 2001 hit ‘Sleep Talk’ featuring the inimitable vocals of Lisa Millett.
