Crystalline Stricture - European Station

After recently releasing the track “Sexotel” in our compilation RetroFutur, Panthera is back with an interstellar… cosmic… astral release! 

This artist from the south of France has a gift: that of magnifying the analogue synthesizers of the 70s/80s with a sensitivity all his own. 
Surely inspired by the founding fathers of a new musical era like Jean Michel Jarre or Hiroshi Yoshimura, Panthera expresses retro culture in his music. 

The eponym “Superchampion” is a beautiful and sensitive track, slow but sure — the perfect track to hit the road and get away from it all along the Côte d’Azur. 

Clarion is cut for the dancefloor. The rolling bass and the incredible pads/leads are supported by a powerful kick, a sharp snare and an effective rhythm. Close your eyes; it’s time to dance! 

To close the original tracks, “Cruising” is so sweet. When you listen to that music, you can’t help but think about 80s TV series full of good feelings like “Arnold & Willy” or “Punky Brewster”. 
Banger for the heart! 

The first remixer is none other than David Carretta himself. 
We are proud that he agreed to contribute to this release. David brings all his talent to the track “Superchampion” to make it a hit between Italo & EBM. A hopeful story of almost 7 minutes at a time when tracks are unfortunately too short of telling great stories… 

Last but not least, the talented Doctr drops the second remix! 
And it’s the perfect track to complete the release. 
As usual, the Dutch artist shows his mastery of Italo music. 
Dropping perfect Batucada percussions to launch the track and during a crazy break, he brings to the original piece a real vintage but modern side! Amazing!

When I was originally making this song I temporarily named it "freaky like that" as a placeholder. During its production someone sung a tune to the chorus "freaky like this ♬ freaky like that ♬" and then I got it stuck in my head. I thought for hours for a different name but it's just stuck as freaky like that I guess.

@AndreasRund (formerly known as Atrey) is a producer from Czech Republic. He debuts on Marseille's @beatismurderlabel with his his 'Light of your Life' EP featuring Voice of Luxor.

The title track is cracking low bpm groove, with a driving beat and progressive feel culminating with deep atmospheric vocals.

I-F Fuckin Consumer (DB69) released on Disko B Records

In the Netherlands some neophile named I-f was fed up with the same old techno 'movement'. This in mind he added some fairly unorthodox dimensions to this gathering, forever changing its course. With primitive electronic equipment I-f transferred sounds from the 80s to the here and now. And by chance, he landed a hit. "Space Invaders are Smoking Grass" is I-f´s entry to Electro-anthem status. Like Funk never happened. 

This is family fodder for dance crazes, for lovers of 'alternative' music, for the whole scattered techno community, as well as for the homelistener who likes to smoke a cigar when hearing 'strange' sounds on the sofa. I-f´s versatile approach to music can't be measured with just this one track. His first full length album on Disko B records proves the point. Fucking Consumer is pretty strong stuff. Electro-nix pure and clear. No nice recycled retro package. It's out of it, sails in its own universe, because it doesn't rely on others.

The overall mood is well-tempered, it seems to be playing along some sound history. Next thing you know, Fucking Consumer is exploding into bursts of noise - what a pleasure. Track by track I-f demands the attention of the listener anew. The final countdown occurs in a little gothic interlude with G.D. from L.A.'s Christian Death delivering the vocals. This Record was the start of a series of records by I-f (I-F – The Man From P.A.C.K, 1999, The Parallax Corporation – Cocadisco in 2003). There were massive records following this pioneer advance and a first clash on electro was done long before Larry T was dreaming of creating electro-clash.
