This is my new music project. There will be a lot of piano, guitar and accordion playing, some drumming and plenty of singing and of course some swimming as well. Sometimes it's only me, and sometimes some dear friends will tag along. Sometimes I'm dead serious, sometimes not at all. But my love for music and my political point of view will always be a part of this.

Perhaps the first alternative rock supergroup, The Breeders’ genesis came during the Pixies’ 1988 European tour alongside 4AD labelmates Throwing Muses – when Pixies bassist Kim Deal and Throwing Muses guitarist Tanya Donelly opted to team up for an extracurricular side project. Dubbing the new band “The Breeders” – after the mid-1970s folk-rock group that Dayton-based Deal had earlier formed with her sister Kelley – they recorded a demo that promptly got them signed by 4AD chief Ivo Watts-Russell. The Breeders – now including The Perfect Disaster’s Josephine Wiggs on bass – spent December 1989 in Edinburgh, Scotland, recording their debut album, Pod, with renowned recording engineer Steve Albini behind the board. Released initially on 4AD/Rough Trade, Pod was a critically acclaimed college-rock milestone famously namechecked by Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain as among his very favorites.
Deal, increasingly frustrated by her inability to have her songs included on Pixies albums, restarted The Breeders in late 1991, enlisting her sister Kelley as third guitarist. The band made its 4AD/Elektra debut with 1992’s four-song Safari EP, though Donelly had by that point left the line-up to start her own successful alt-pop band, Belly. Upon the Pixies’ dissolution later that same year, Deal recruited drummer Jim MacPherson and The Breeders became a full-fledged musical concern, kicking things off with a bang by supporting Nirvana on their 1992 European tour.

The Breeders’ second 4AD/Elektra release, Last Splash, arrived in 1993 to universal praise and seemingly constant college-rock radio airplay. “Cannonball,” the album’s first single, proved a surprise Top 40 hit while also reaching #2 at Modern Rock radio. What’s more, the song’s rollicking video – directed by Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon and award-winning filmmaker Spike Jonze – virtually defined MTV’s alternative programming of the period. As a result, Last Splash received RIAA platinum certification for sales in excess of 1 million.

The Breeders and Elektra ultimately parted ways in 2004, but the band remains a potent and productive force, with additional albums and EPs released though the 2000’s.

used fiction is the songwriting project of Tommy P., whose debut album Lore gathers the fragments of youth into a quiet, mythic narrative. Tender vocals and ambient textures carry stories of love, friendship, and loss, moments that shape a life and linger long after they pass.

The words about the halves and the whole…

Cohort of two is a duo consisting of the two halves Frida Svensson and Claes Larsson, who met in the autumn of 2010. They talked about music and quickly realized that they had many common ideas and thoughts about music and creativity. So they decided to share an open stage and play a few songs themselves and a few songs together. Nowadays, they mostly play their songs together but still leave some room to play for themselves, one by one. They have taken their inspiration from anywhere they could find anything interesting. All the way from the old timey blues to the modern indie pop.

Together they have a desire to seek for something great in what is small. Piano, guitars, two singers and a couple of home made instruments are the basis for that quest, and the meeting of the music they’ve found creates a sound character that is difficult to put in a genre, but that clearly defines who they are and were they come from. Two halves, become a whole, becomes Cohort of two.

Är en duo som består av de två halvorna Frida Svensson och Claes Larsson, som träffades under hösten 2010. De pratade om musik och insåg snabbt att de hade många gemensamma nämnare. Så de bestämde sig för att dela på en öppen scen och spela ett par låtar själva och ett par låtar tillsammans. Numera spelar de det allra mesta tillsammans men lämnar fortfarande utrymme för att spela själva. Inspirationen har de hämtat från allt mellan stenkakebluesen och den morderna indiepoppen, men folken och jazzen har också satt sina spår.
Tillsammans har de en vilja att söka något stort i det som är litet. Piano, gitarrer, två sångare och ett par hemmabyggda instrument utgör grunden för det sökandet, och det möte i musiken de har hittat skapar en ljudkaraktär som är svår att sätta en genre på, men som tydligt definierar vilka de är och vad de kommer ifrån. Två halvor blir en helhet blir Cohort of two.
