The Mp3 is better than I thought and seems to be very well encoded with frequencies going up to 19Khz.  A very nice recording.

Cervus elaphus hispanicus refers to the red deer of Portugal and Spain. It's slightly smaller than those across the Pyrenees.
The rutting season (referred to as 'brama' in Portugal) starts mid-August and goes until the end of September. 
The recording was in an area in interior Alentejo where wild boars and white-tailed deer live in big numbers and all can be heard throughout this segment.

Early morning. I went to see if it would be possible to record moor frogs in a place where I know they are. I didn't see any frogs, but I did meet a capercaillie. I tied the microphones to a tree and left to record. The picture shows the same bird that appears in the recording.

Western capercaillie makes vocalizations in early spring forest

Late morning in Palupõhja village Alam-Pedja nature reserve, Estonia. Different little birds are chirping in the trees next to the village road when suddenly a black woodpecker comes and bangs his drum four and a half times. The recording was made in the late morning of April 17, 2023

In Uttarakhand, where the Himalayan mountain range begins, lies a remote area untouched by human presence. At 3,200 meters above sea level, there's a pristine forest, undisturbed by human interference. Spending the night near the microphones.

Quiet late summer afternoon deep in the forest, in the bottom of a valley.  Not much happens except the quiet, crickets, cicadas, pileated woodpeckers and other bird calls.   

Best with headphones.   Recorded while out hiking on the Ouachita Trail using an Audio Technica BP4025 mic into an Olympus LS-100 recorder.  This 18 minute file consists of extracts from the original 2.5 hour recording.   A lot of the cricket sound, in the original recording, is above 10KHz and is not well preserved in the mp3 version (but its inaudible anyway).
