'Your Loving Arms' was one of my favorite tracks when I grew up. When Armin van Buuren played it at A State Of Trance for the first time, I didn't know what to do, my body and mind just stopped and I was like... "WHAT IS THIS???!"

Still today, the original version is kind of timeless, this track can be played anywhere, everywhere.

Linking with Get Physical signee, Tim Green after a recent move back to London, there's a strong buzz circling around the Kent-born producer. With a string of exciting projects pouring from his back catalogue (Green has released on Cocoon, Dirtybird and remixed for the likes of Friendly Fires and Seth Troxler), the budding dynamo is on the high road to success. Yet, despite the growing hype around him, it's made quite clear in the following chat with Green that he still strives for a new challenge, something that might not be so important within the biz nowadays. Heavily immersed in his musical productions, Green exerts himself anywhere he can, including his intrinsic house and techno outputs and his more experimental, live persuasions.

Currently developing both his live project and his relatively new label, Disc Over Music, as well as shaping and forming the basis for his debut album, we managed to find some time with Tim before he plays live in Room One on 26th July, getting our hands on a new mix whilst asking him a few probing questions about the move back to the capital and his forthcoming projects.

Some times the music just magically comes out, and that is the case here with "Syria" by new Sol*Selectas artist Unders from Amsterdam. After several successful tunes above the 120 BPM mark on labels like Sincopat and Groove On, "Syria" was Unders' first attempt at slower grooves, and an accidental experiment that just "fell into place, and was automatic magic". Syria's current political unrest is all over the news and social media, and the story being painted is difficult to watch. Driven to create a song which goes against all the negative publicity, Unders says "between all the negativity, the more i looked into the situation, the country, its people and its culture, the more this track reminded me of so much beauty the media doesn’t portray." The song itself a slow minimal trip with chopped up guitar licks, a gorgeous flute sample that takes the listener to far off desert lands, and features the vocals of Veerle. Satori is yet another up and coming producer from the Netherlands, gaining instant recognition sharing the stage and studio with Acid Pauli, and producing incredible tunes utilizing live instruments played by himself, and tastefully incorporating these with electronic elements. His remix preserves the original message of "Syria" lowering the BPM to an even more hypnotic 104 BPMs. Satori adds middle eastern strings and chords, swapping out the original vocal for a more Saharan inspired call, and even plays delicately with some acid sounds furthering the listeners journey. 
Both songs are meant to invoke peaceful images of Syria, and conjure up positive intention on the dance floor. Sol*Selectas is very excited to present the debut song "Syria" from Unders, and the amazing remix by Satori, two artists from the Netherlands you would do well to keep your eyes and ears open to in 2016.

This is a tribute to Armenian folklore music in general, but in special to Samvel Yervinyan who plays this beautiful piece and which fascinating music I am completely addicted. 

The voice in the track telling such a powerful story comes from a documentary I strongly recommend called HUMAN by Yann Arthus-Bertrand. It is definetely one of the movies that has touched me stronger. It speaks of hope and a beautiful side of us, which is usually hidden in the mainstream media.
