Description:
Five One Two, is performed on a microtonal three-dimensional lattice of 512 notes using the following tuning axes:

1.
Axis i: octave reduced powers of prime 3/1
Axis j: octave reduced powers of prime 5/1
Axis k: octave reduced powers of prime 7/1

2.
Axis i: powers of 4/3
Axis j: powers of 8/5
Axis k: powers of 8/7

1: Five One Two - Part 1, 02:00
Highly modulated synthesiser parameters. The Lyra 8 was passed through a dual envelope generator in 3D Prime Synth.

2: Five One Two - Part 2 A, 04:34
A more laid back timbre choice for 3D Prime Synth. Tuning scheme: octave reduced primes 3, 5 and 7. The Lyra takes a more leading melodic role here. 

3: Five One Two - Part 2 B, 01:06
Small deviations of the FM synthesiser settings versus Part 2 A. Only the 3D Prime Synth played here.

4: Five One Two - Part 3, 03:37
The tuning scheme was changed here to powers of 4/3, 8/5 and 8/7 for the i, j and k axes respectively. Now putting the prime numbers on the denominator, giving it a more "Jazz" chord feel. The Lyra was tuned by ear prior to Part 3 performance, no improvised tuning during the performance.

5: Five One Two - Part 4, 01:54
Part 4 continued on from the tuning of Part 3, but now exploring mid performance changes of which tuning planes from the three dimensional lattice to perform on. The Lyra accompanies.

6: Five One Two - Part 5, 02:20
The final Part 5, returns to the same tuning scheme as Part 1, octave reduced powers of primes 3, 5 and 7 sorted in ascending order. There is a call and answer conversation going on between the 3D Prime Synth and the Lyra, recorded in two takes to their respective tracks. The Lyra has the final word.

Serenade Of Requital

When I wrote this, I imagined that it'd loop in the background of a video game as you explore a quaint village at night, while the snow falls around you and crunches under your feet. The stars twinkle in the sky as the breeze blows the falling flakes in to swirls that shimmer like the constellations. You feel a sense of inner peace and joy, as the world seems to stand perfectly still, but also has never been so alive.
