Making his full label debut, we welcome Australian producer Amateur Dance aka Joseph Cookson to Anjunadeep with four fresh deep cuts in ‘Love System EP’; his first label outing earlier this year with a highly rated remix of Way Out West’s ‘Tuesday Maybe’.

“Live Cuts” is a series of tracks we have been playing as part of our live set for the past couple of years.
These tracks were made exclusively to be played live. Since we started touring in 2012, we’ve always considered a live set as a work-in-progress, something in permanent motion, made "for the moment”, right there, right then. Each night is different and every gig takes us into unexpected directions. We always run away from the idea of making our live set just another “playlist” of the tracks that we officially released only to please the crowd. We wanted to take the risk to create something new and embark with people on a musical journey that was made just for them, just for that moment.

All throughout December, we’ve decided to share those exclusive tracks with you. As their name suggests, these are “Live Cuts”, they are unmastered and unreleased, recorded live. They might sound rough or undone but our live set remains an unfinished story ;)

"Hélices" Brazilian producer Superficie ’s EP is all about Club, Baile Funk and Ambient moods. Inspired by socio-economic conflicts from his country of origin, as well as in the advances of biotechnology of our era, robotic insects and expressive percussion surround us throughout a chase in south of the Amazon. It comes with four original tracks and two intriguing remixes by Armenian-American foozool and Venezuelan-American umurmurum.

Titled “Window” and “Jet Streams” respectively, each piece functions as portal between internal and external worlds, managing affective inputs and outputs with deep intimacy. 

Inchindown’s “Window” grapples with noise and lofty melodic motifs, laying out an expansive field of sound that instantly envelops the listener. Familiar segments enter and exit the fray as the piece proceeds almost atemporally, extended onto a never-ending horizontal field. 

Specimens’ “Jet Streams” also imbues a grandiose mood into tiny detail, masterfully utilizing feedback to puncture a blanket soft atmospheric quotient. It’s easy to get lost in the piece’s softly lapping waves, a sense of immersion aided by intense melancholy. 

Both segments tend to congeal and distort, preferring emotional clarity at times and distorting it at others. Inchindown and Specimens come from a long lineage of London artists delving into the promise and disappointment of an expansive urban environment and “Window” and “Jet Stream” will prove fitting soundtracks to any number of transient environments.
