Our 40th release is coming from a couple of friends, working on cool music on our opposite side of the world. Lyndon is not new on our label (he is on our legendary compilations) , and he is one of the founder of ‘Unchained Recordings’ , a really cool asian fresh label that share the same vision of the dnb sound with us. Although coming from two different musical quarters of the bass universe, Mike Airstrike and Lyndon Jarr have been quietly collaborating for a couple of years now. With a wide variety of music in their palette, from atmospheric club 3-step to left-field autonomic and everything in between, they have been building up their release arsenal for 2021 and the years to come.
Both warehouse jaunters from back in the day, the duo kick off their first release - the Rave Circus Ep. We are very happy to be part of their musical journey.
All three tracks are presented at 160bpm and littered with mutations of Acid, Drum’n’Bass, Hardcore, Techno and antic vocalisms harking back to an era where the glow stick and the dirty reese bass reigned supreme! Both Rave Circus and Bells are a breed of pre-jungle era rave whist Poison punches hard as a 4/4 rolling acid breakbeat anthem.
Airstrike, known for his choppage-esqe liquid output is originally from Brighton, UK and based in the United States where he tends to his rose garden and miniature ant farm when not making tunes. Lyndon Jarr has been pushing out vibey 140 and the odd banger for some years and is also co-Founder/label manager of Unchained Recordings. Whilst based in Hong Kong for the past 10 years, he has recently returned to Sydney where he tends to his Australian accent, coffee addiction and world renowned glow-worm collection.
In 2021 expect to see their own imprint, Static and Strange, come to view focusing on their own sonic creations.

Remember when we said we were ending this series? Yeeeeeeah that totally went well. The Remix's retires like Terry Funk (props if you get the reference). But when we keep getting completely brilliant remixes coming in that result in absolutely stacked volumes like this one, how could we not keep it going? 

And oh boy when I say stacked, I mean STACKED. The legendary Phuture Assassins, whose contributions to hardcore as a genre cannot be overstated, turns in a killer take on Abyss' Soundclash. The Hemp Knight DJ Mannik puts his signature spin on Liquid Crystal's Radiate. Jungle rising star Tim Reaper stops by for a stellar remix of Ant To Be's Bells On The Way, and rounding it out is an in-house pairing, with KF secret weapon Shoreman doing the honours on DJ Beeno's It's On. 

Like I said, stacked.

As an artist, Jack Stevens aka Sully keeps music lovers guessing with the many twists and turns of his discography. But throughout, from his early works in the 140 bpm region right up to his current Jungle offerings, one thing stays the same: A disciplined example of restraint. There’s never too much and every element is there for a reason. Stevens’ work is sparse, but not empty. Calculated, but not without soul. He is also an experienced DJ having recorded mixes for Clash, Fact and Boiler Room and in recent months has been hosting a show on Radar Radio with Klaar and Sim Hutchins as ‘Body Count’ and true to form the show encompasses many moods and sounds.

In a time when Jungle is enjoying the limelight there are many over-the-top renditions and pointless references. In Flock however, there are no cheap shots. There is no bandwagoning or hidden agenda, there is just music from the soul. As a body of work, Flock has a certain coldness with melancholy melodies and icy synth sounds that would not sound out of place in an early Wiley production. The title track opens with celestial stabs that precede a wind of metallic Amen chops, both beautiful and tearout. ‘Helios’ is a paradox of burning fire and sub zero synths that will light up and freeze a dance floor. ‘Crystal Cuts’ slices through with shards of Amen that sparkle against a lost Anime soundtrack. Flock closes with ‘Hours, Miles & Still…’ which is the most complex piece. An ice cold symphony develops on top of hollow breaks to create a gripping journey through emotions.

The aim of this EP is to help raise awareness and money for charities that help prevent deforestation all over the planet, focusing on the rainforests and the jungle (of course). So all profits will be split between a select few hand picked charities such as Cool Earth, Rainforest Alliance, Size of Wales and Baka Beyond.

DRPT004 landed on 3rd Feb 2023 after a long hiatus! Featuring IJO dropping those 94/95 crunchy hardware sounds, blending the dark and light we love so much. Remix duties from the mighty Equinox (Sci Wax) & Kid Lib (Green Bay Wax).

3rd March 2023 sees Disrupt collaborating with PPJ Recordings featuring 2 slamming new skool tracks from Donnie Murdo on the Disrupt side, with 2 old skool anthems from 12bit Jungle Out There on the PPJ side. Strictly limited edition hand stamped, white label copies on clear or black vinyl.

DRPT005 welcomes new producer Meridian to the label with two Photek/Source Direct style tracks reminiscent of the mid 90's, featuring stunning remixes from Sonar's Ghost & Enjoy!

All Disrupt releases are limited edition vinyl, with full artwork sleeves originally hand painted by the ridiculously talented Russell Reed.
