For the sing along crew this one's on a German language tip for AK1200's outing on his Is What It Is remix. About Mizhap

Aside from holding down multiple DJ residencies over her career (Henry Summer Bar, Northbridge Brewing Company & The Camfield, to name a few) Mizhap’s world class turntablism skills have allowed her to place in the 2019 Australian DMCs, make the Top 10 in the Australian Online DMCs and also compete in the 2021 DMC World Beat Juggling Championships. 

With over 8 years of experience as an open-format DJ, the 25-year old has only just begun. The ‘Rainfall Down EP’ sees the welcome return of Black Barrel to Dispatch, with four tracks that represent the deeper, minimal side of the Russian maestro’s musical output. Known for his technical production skills and is no stranger to an upfront dancefloor smasher, Black Barrel throws another curve ball with an EP that showcases his musical versatility.

‘I Wanna Go’ starts the EP with smooth liquid warmth, with sub-bass a plenty for this classy roller. ‘Make it Feela’ explores the depths of glitched snares and tweaks. The title track ‘Rainfall Down’ is packed with emotion, melancholy bass meets crisp drum and sparkling harmonics. ‘Please Stop’ completes the EP with its rolling bass warps and his trademark vocal edits.

Another standout release from this prolific producer, that might take some by surprise.

A four-track melodic jungle release from Black Barrel might not be what you expected, but he continues to impress and demonstrate his versatility again. His sound has continued to evolve and explore new musical grounds across his many releases for Dispatch. Just as you think you can identify his trademark elements, he switches things up in new and exciting ways.

This selection of tracks instinctively found their home on Dispatch Dubplate; a collection of mid-90s inspired tunes with an Omni Trio / Essence of Aura vibe, pure jungle deepness and added Black Barrel flair.
