Tash's Movement Recordings opens the month of December by welcoming NuFects to the label for their debut EP. Conceptualized in 2013, Colombian artists Alejo Cortes and Carlos Lopez aka NuFects decided to undertake a project full of energy, joy, colour and intrigue. They started producing progressive and organic house under the name NuFects (short for The New Effect), quickly earning recognition from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Cid Inc, along with very important local talents Dabeat, Gux Jimenez and Kamilo Sanclemente, while legends like Paul Oakenfold and Solarstone playlisted their music. Now surpassing ten years of working together, NuFects takes another important step with their Movement Recordings debut 'Demons and Slayers', alongside remixes from Alan Cerra and Paul Deep (AR).

The release concludes with Paul Deep making his label debut with the lone interpretation of 'Slayers'. With a career that spans the better part of a decade, the Argentinean artist has compiled an impressive resume along the way, landing releases via All Day I Dream, Tale and Tone and The Soundgarden. World class DJs Lee Burridge, Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren have all been steadfast supporters of Paul's sound, which often sits in the creative space between progressive and organic house. Now, following his latest vehicle for Proton Music, Paul makes his long overdue Movement Recordings debut with a huge rendition of 'Slayers'. Built around a thumping percussive framework, Paul focuses on rhythm and groove across the first act, nicely balanced with a healthy dose of arpeggiated sequences. Looking to bring greater emotional depth, the main break unveils a gorgeous primary theme, delicately dancing across dusty percussion and tension filled tones, as modulation peaks for a fiery finale.

Transensations Welcomes Russian producer SERGEY MUZARKS who joins the label with the EP BREEZE, including remixes by ANDRE MORET and HOBIN RUDE.

The main theme "Breeze", is a well crafted progressive track, with an energetic drive groove. Hobin Rude returns to Transensations with another stunning remix, a denser and hypnotic, previously supported by Hernan Cattaneo on his live sets.

Second track "Infinity", has a deeper and introspective feeling with soft elements and a beautiful melodic breakdown. Closing the EP, Brazilian producer Andre Moret, bring another great remix, adding his sound signature with rhythmic ambience and hypnotic atmosphere filled with a nice percussion.

Opening the year's final month Ziger returns to his Eat My Hat Music imprint with a new single. With 2022 winding to a close, the Greek artist comes off a string of successful projects which have spanned the last calendar year. Whether being paired with occasional studio partner Mind Conspiracy or operating in solo capacity, Ziger has added nicely to his resume across the year. A string of successful releases for Eat My Hat have once again been the highlight, with ICONYC and SLC-6 Music also playing host to his cutting-edge sounds. Now presenting his final production of 2022, Ziger unveils the much anticipated 'Skywalk', alongside a remix from Amir Farhoodi and Saleh. 

Much lauded for his amalgamation of progressive and melodic house and techno, Ziger continues to explore that marriage on 'Skywalk'. Wrapped within a fluid rhythmic shell are punchy beats, subterranean basslines and a myriad of tantalizing effects. The Greek artist's storyboarding takes hold as metallic melodies meander through a percussive forest and multiple shades of light, before opening further as the main break commences. The interlude showcases Ziger's uncanny knack for juxtaposing tension and emotion, as evocative melodies continue to emerge and shapeshifting effects sweep across the stereo field, eventually giving way to a thunderous drop and driving finale.

The release concludes with Amir Farhoodi and Saleh returning to the label for the lone interpretation of 'Skywalk'. Coming from a trance background, Iranian artist Amir Farhoodi first emerged with a remake of Envio's classic 'Touched by the Sun'. Played by Armin Van Buuren, it set the course for future projects via John OO Fleming's JOOF Recordings and Lost Language. Meanwhile, fellow countryman Saleh Bahaedini aka Saleh has been a fixture of the electronic underground for the better part of a decade. Releases via Astrolabe and Easy Summer highlight his discography, while recent collaborations with Amir Farhoodi have showcased the duo's creative synergy. Having made their Eat My Hat debut in October with the 'Signals' EP, Amir and Saleh now return to the label for their first remix, taking 'Skywalk' into pure progressive territory. Warm and inviting throughout, its re-shaped low end provides a funkier anchor for balmy effects and heavenly sonics to work their magic. Soulful plucks and ethnic phrasing bring a cross-cultural vibe across the first act, before smoothly shifting energy into a blissful centrepiece. Serving as more of a rhythmic transition, the break keeps rhythm locked as percussive continues to fire and metallic melodies steal the air, onwards to a transcendent finale. A gorgeous interpretation from Amir Farhoodi and Saleh, which rounds out an excellent single for Ziger, who caps off another hugely successful year with 'Skywalk'.

Presenting their final release of the year, Musique de Lune welcomes Juan Deminicis to the label for his debut EP. As a favourite of progressive music's top tastemakers in Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J, the Argentinean artist has released on some of the genre's finest imprints over the course of his now fifteen year career. Hoomidas, Lost & Found, Replug, Souksonic and Sudbeat Music have all been regular landing spots for the talented Buenos Aires resident. Also a highly regarded DJ, Juan has programmed music for some of his country's trendiest venues, in turn sharing the stage with 16 Bit Lolitas, D-Nox, Guy J, Guy Mantzur, Jody Wisternoff and Roy Rosenfeld. With a year that has already yielded releases via Clubsonica, Mango Alley and Proton Music, Juan now steps up to Musique de Lune with a much anticipated five track showcase entitled 'Illusions'.

Sofian Rouge is a name that’s been sneaking up on the global music scene for some time, deftly delivering his namesake “balaeric cosmic techno pop” and warm, analog house grooves to the unsuspecting masses. Previous releases on Global Warming, Buzzin’ Fly, SFP and more have brought the French maestro (real name: Frederic Faupin) critical acclaim and A-list accolades. Now he’s back on Dissident after a summer debut (Ancient Sun) that saw heavy-hitter support from DJs including Sasha and Aly & Fila.

“The Mirror” brings us more of the good vibes we’ve come to expect from Sofian Rouge. Deep chords and melodic bells float above funky balaeric grooves and a percolating bassline, carrying the listener to a blissful Mediterranean escape. Perfect poolside beats.

Miami DJ Doc Brown turns up the energy level and turns out a properly storming tech-roller, transforming sunny arps into gritty acid-tinged lines, laced with drums and more drums. We’re excited to have Doc back on Dissident and this remix proves why he remains one of the most respected but under-appreciated producers around.

Last, and in no way least, Denver’s Josh Wetherington displays his deep-tech and progressive bonafides with his version of “The Mirror.” Melodies only alluded to by the original and expanded and expounded by Josh, with washes of synths and chords from above filtering in and out of the composition, guided by deep kicks and skipping hats. This mix is pure gold for sophisticated ears and it will stick with you for a long time to come, we guarantee it.
 Sofian Rouge “The Mirror” is a win for all involved and a package with something for everyone.
