"While curating this set, I thought about how our human experiences often feel unstable, lonely, and painful, yielding our deep need for connection. This set is a meditation on how our artistic and creative practices of all kinds have the power to generate and co-manifest collective strength, and how crucial this work together is for all of us. The musical selections, for me, give rise to feelings of love, sensuality, mystery, whimsy, queerness, wonder – and a little fear too. The process of building this set was hugely formative for me; it took me quite a while to get the flow right and find a take that seemed to capture where I am at right now. Eric Umble (he/they) is a Brooklyn-based DJ, sound artist, clarinetist, and party producer passionate about cultivating a thriving local dance music community. An acclaimed classical musician with a focus on experimental music, Eric's love of repetition and extended forms made his jump to DJing a natural step. 

Eric is co-founder, lead producer, and resident of FACETIME along with Rebecca Goldberg (Detroit Underground). Founded in 2019, FACETIME builds and celebrates community through music, dance, and visual art. It is held monthly in New York City and has also presented after-hours, virtual, and late-night events in Detroit and Cleveland. Eric is a regular presence in the New York scene appearing at venues including Bossa Nova Civic Club, Trans-Peocs, Mansions, Market Hotel, H0l0, National Sawdust, and more. Eric has shared their driving, hypnotic, uplifting, melodic, and groovy sound across the country at parties and raves above and below ground. Highlights include VOID (Philadelphia), Intimät (Denver), SYIT's Techno Cabin (NYC / PA), and Sound Space (Deluxx Fluxx, Detroit). Eric joined the inaugural artist roster of the Verdant Foundry in 2023.

Furtive is a full-gonzo rave conjurer and relentless creative tinkerer, intractably committed to the rave as a Philadelphia-based producer, DJ, underground event organizer, and dancer. A shifting sonic chameleon, Furtive brings a scintillating, sentimental, and psychedelic touch to their artistry, rooted in wormhole-traversing technoid propulsion and dependably delivering riotous, slack-jawed whiplash moments of the delightfully unexpected. Their many polished and focused genre-spanning productions are informed by over thirteen years of experience in the studio, yielding a rich selection of tracks across their self-released discography, vinyl pressings, and contributions to compilations. A veritable product of the contemporary American underground, Furtive cut their teeth as a DJ and DIY event organizer in Washington, DC’s warehouses, where they once played a variety of turnkey roles in putting on some of the District’s more proper techno parties. Furtive co-founded and co-runs Bounce House, an intimate, blossoming off-the-books venue in Philly where they regularly hold court as a resident. Furtive is on broadcast monthly through Ashen Vanity, a radio residency at Philadelphia’s indispensable cultural mainstay Great Circles. As a DJ, Furtive has played hallowed halls (recently rampaging at Nowadays and Basement), dingy holes, roaring renegades, broadcast booths, and festivals (The Great Beyond '23, '24, and headlining in '25, Honcho Campout '24) - always with eclectic selections and a steadfast focus on pacing and dynamics while regularly jumping genres to build moving and impactful sets, often alongside internationally celebrated, no-nonsense acts. Beyond the fog and speaker stacks, Furtive creates art in a variety of mediums. They're as unapologetic in their sincerity and flair as they are in being a die-hard True Believer in the rave.
