Isaiah Martin - DISTRIKT Music - Burning Man 2019

One of my favorite DJ sets at the Burn this year was on top of the Disco Space Shuttle art car on Thursday night from 11pm to 2 am. It was an incredible cosmic ride into Deep Playa. 

The soil condition was so bumpy that it created an unforgiving DJ desk surface to those of us who prefer not to play with the Sync button on. I could had gone that way but I decided to let the challenge seep through the mixes and allow for the experience to be recorded as raw and human as possible, full of flaws and the highlighted reality that the playa surface was still wrecked from the previous year's Renegade Burn, and a lack of rain on the playa which did not allow for the lake to form for as long as it normally does between Burns. The earth climate is changing, and the heat at the Burn this year was present for most of the 24hrs of each day.

Amidst a wild dust storm at Burning Man on Friday night, we took refuge in an oasis of hospitality, elegance, and luxury;  the grand hotel known as Ashram Galactica for an evening of tasty drinks and sultry celebration. I played music from my entire library having no set list prepared and choosing from both new and old tracks. This is the magic that unfolded. I hope you enjoy the journey and if you were not present, I hope you wonder into this mystical ashram at some time in the future.

It has been quite some time since the last time we gathered for a night of MBTS. I wanted to take some time after the pandemic to be quiet and see how the dance music scene would evolve, and what sounds would come out of the standstill that was Covid. Now that I have a good sense of where I want to be sonically, and what kind of energy I want to spread onto dance floors, I am ready to restart MBTS in 2023. M.B.T.S. (Most Below The Surface) 2023

After shutting down the bot following an incredibly powerful and meaningful temple burn for our camp, many of you thought that was the end of our 2022 Burning Man. However, a few hours later, the bus appeared in deep playa with Nico Stojan at the helm, just in time for one last sunrise. Here's looking forward to many more surprises and unscheduled moments together in 2023.

"What an honor it was to return to the Robot Heart bus for the final sunrise set of last year’s Burn! 

Originally, the Robot Heart team wasn’t planning on playing music Monday morning, so I was super happy when they asked me to play the last sunrise on the playa.

When I arrived at camp early Monday, the RH crew was just waking up and the bus was still sleeping, but there was an excitement in the air - so often it is those unplanned experiences at Burning Man that create the most magic.

We drove out to deep playa in the dark and before long had gained a wonderful crowd, everyone coming together to dance away their final hours in the dust. People were exhausted, but also energized from their week in the desert and not ready to return to the default world.

It was a super chilled last sunrise set that I thoroughly enjoyed - an unexpected morning that turned out to be unforgettable!"

Do Not Sit On The Furniture - Miami | 06.29.2023

Third year in a row bringing in the new day during the 4th of July festivities, and I still cannot believe how epic it keeps getting year after year during the closing of the CAMP festival. This year we came fully prepared with an array of live singers and musicians for my set. Kicking it off with Tory Stolper and myself performing our track Surya Rising live, to having our sunrise electronic dance music sermon delivered by the talented writer and poet Lauren Ducrey, and flanked by the A-Team with Noah & Mendeleyev.

3.5 hrs flew by, and as we still had to Burn the majestic Sloth effigy built by the talented Jacob, I decided to keep the closing sunrise affair measured under 5 hrs... LOL. (Maybe next year we will push a little longer into the daytime vibes...)

Thankful to Brad, Gil, Sarah, Therapy Sound and all of the people who tirelessly set up this magical fairy forest stage for us to weave musical magic. 

This was one of the most meaningful morning for me, thank you for coming along for the ride. From darkness to light and all of the ephemeral magic that exists in-between. <3

It was an incredibly big honor to have been asked to be a part of the second Further Future event, even more so for the opportunity to play on the revered Robot Heart stage alongside so many DJs and producers I am personally quite fond of. I had so much music that I wanted to share, many styles and directions, so I decided (as I started my set with a homage to one of my very early electronic music inspirations Leftfield) to show a cross-section of the current vibes I like to share with you all, from the ambient intro to the final 124bpm throwback epic ‘Rave Child’ by DJ Metatron.
