This is what happens behind closed doors, a space to showcase both our resident brands, local selectors and upcoming and unsigned talent that regular grace our booth, to keep you both gassed for these nights and to put some limelight on the boundless selectors that make up the scene here and showcase some of the sound our little bar has to offer. There is something for everyone here, with Garage to Disco, Breaks to Minimal. We cater for everyone with a essence on the underground sound. You can catch pretty much all these DJs performing at our venue at some point over the year so this gives you a true capture of the sound of Distrikt and our artists and their events. Cabezas’ new EP “Raya” is a distillation of the conversations that have shaped him over the last decade. From the Danceteria-ready sheen of “Madonna” to the nocturnal-italo pulse of “Sergio”, Cabezas covers a wide swath of sonic ground, starting in almost-familiar places and spiraling out into the unknown.
This is Cabezas’ second EP, following up his 2018 Börft Records release "Mi Calle".
Born in Chile and living in Sweden, Patricio Cabezas is a multi-talented musician/producer. After years as a touring bass player, he recommitted himself to electronic music, trading his pickups for a circuit board in search of the boundaries of sound.
Since childhood Cabezas has thrown himself into the in-between. With a life of hybrid timezones, cultures and identities, his approach to music is similarly liminal. Driven by discovery and experimentation, Cabezas hybridizes genres, themes and instrumenta- tion to create electronic music that lives on the edge, built for the mains, headphones and everywhere in between.

Having started out as a resident for Leeds based collective LS:MIX, Josh Fry started paradise discs as he developed a love and sound for everything slow, cosmic, chugging and funky. VA-Solidarity is a Weapon

These are strange times and it looks like the whole world is going crazy. At least that's how we feel when we open the newspaper and follow the daily news.
All of us noticed the news about Nazi networks in police and military, mostly called „Einzelfälle“ with fear and concern. Halle and Hanau shook us. To watch “Querdenker” and Nazis walking hand in hand while the protests for the victims of Hanau where declined made us want to throw up and listening to politicians talking about the threat from leftwing-radicals just made us wonder. Even the orange president talked about the Antifa-myth which is complete bullshit. So what does Antifa mean? A short term for Antifascist.
Since we are no longer involved in political activism, we thought we would at least make a small contribution and support activists in their struggle.

So we started asking our friends if they wanted to contribute a track. Everyone jumped right on the bandwagon, which made us super happy and in a few weeks we even had more tracks than initially planned.
So you can expect some weird ambient-spheres, stompy club hymns, dolphin-trance, classic piano-house and even some dub-grooves.

We hope you enjoy the music as much as we do.

So who is “Rote Hilfe E.V.” and why does the money made with this compilation goes to them? This organisation puts the main focus on the financial and legal support of left activists who face repression in Germany. Besides, the “Rote Hilfe E.V.” helps antifascists who are searching for political refuge in Germany. We think that's a good cause which we would like to support. So your money is well spent! ;)
