1. How would you describe your sound?

“Driving is probably the most accurate word for my music. I love music that has a good drive in it and without thinking about it I almost always seem to produce things that has a deep drive in it.”

2. Most exciting club moment?

“I have many really exciting moments, but DGTL Amsterdam in 2014 was something special!”

3. How did you learn producing?

“I learned producing 10-12 years ago, while I was attending a music school, where I played guitar in a rock band. The electronic music production grabbed my attention the first time a saw it and a few months later I bought a small studio setup having no knowledge at all on how to produce. I am a self-taught producer and it was not an easy journey for me - but no one ever said it would be.”

4. Favorite track at the moment?

“Tough one! Check number 2 and the last track in my podcast.”

5. DAW?

“Ableton 4 life.”

6. What is your trademark?

“Never sticking to the plan. I do not think I have a trademark other than I am always trying to re-new my sound. I get inspired to try out new sounds all the time, and I guess that makes my style diverse somehow.”

7. Next release?

“My next release is on my own label, Blindfold Recordings. It is a melodic piece with two originals and an Oliver Schories Remix. Plus I got an EP coming on legendary Global Underground.”

8. What keeps you going?

“My love for the music. This business is tough and after only a few years I could feel the pressure when I was touring. Too little sleep, a lot of pressure from promotors, fans etc. it makes your head spin around like crazy. Sometimes when I came back home after maybe 2-3 gigs I would be so much out of balance that you would not even believe it. I have said to myself a lot of times that it is time to leave the DJ life, but after only a few days I am dying to go out again. It is a curse. So the love for the music and passion for the people who are like-minded is what keeps me going.”

9. Where would you love to play live?

“I would love to play at Awakenings at some point - life goals and everything.

10. What makes you laugh?

“Will Ferrell in Step-brothers and Anchorman. Simple as that, and they never fail.”

1. Most exciting club moment?

“It was last February 26th (2016) at Bauhaus Party, the party where I am ‘resident’ in my city Bergamo. I played just before Marco Resmann. He was playing fantastically while, suddenly, almost in the end of his set, he turned his head and asked me: ‘You play with me?’ I was like petrified. I went next to him and we did a little b2b! That night he gave me an important lesson of humility. He is a great person.”

2. How did you learn producing?

“I am totally self-taught. At the beginning I simply watched some tutorials, then I started to experiment and play with very basic sounds. When I bought my first monitors everything changed. I focused on mixing, synthesizing and sampling. Collaborating with other producers was very constructive too: You learn a lot from others and vice versa.”

3. Favorite track at the moment/all time?

“Right now, my favorite track was recently released by Einmusika. It is ‘Jonas Saalbach - Ancient Lake feat. Paul Klatt (Sébastien Léger Remix)’. Fresh, dreamy and sexy.
The best track of all time? I would say ‘Nathan Fake - The Sky Was Pink (James Holden remix)’. And I do not need to explain why. Just try to listen to it.”

4. Dream collab?

“Paris Hilton.
Just joking, definitely Rodriguez Jr.”

5. Favorite DJ Setup?

“It depends. When I DJ I usually use a pair of Pioneer 2000 and a Allen & Heat x-one 92. But this is not my only setup. In fact, this year I have started an experiment based on live music. The project is called ‘Knobs Bergamo’ - check the page on FB. I founded it together with other three artists. Our purpose is to create a platform for live electronic music education and a wide network. We try to bring together producers and musicians of every kind in order to meet, collaborate and jam together organizing public shows. It is unbelievable how useful and magic the moment of improvisation is. By the way, my setup in this case is totally different and it is also the same setup I use in my studio: I use a Launchpad to record clips, a Korg Nanokontrol where I mapped an Ableton sampler creating a sort of ‘analog-feeling’ digital synthesizer, an Akai LPD8 which I use for playing and choosing drums, and finally an Elektron Analog 4 to create synths, basses, accents, arpeggios or atmos on the fly.”

6. What keeps you going?

“1) My family: They never interfered between me and my music.
2) The neighbors: They have always been patients with me and it is not a simple thing. They are probably ‘saints’.
3) My friends: They keep me going always with my head straight.
4) All the new musicians I meet: They all create a musical interactions and inspiration starts to grow.”

7. You in 10 years?

“I do not imagine myself tomorrow, how can I imagine me in 10 years? By the way I wish to own a label and play around the world. I know it is a long long way though but I deeply enjoy what I am doing. It is my life.”

8. What do you listen to besides electronic music?

“Many things. When I want to be quiet, i.e. most of the time, I usually listen to singer-songwriters, like Ben Harper, Bob Marley or Jack Johnson.”

9. What distinguishes you and your music from other artists?

“I try to be eclectic and to fill my tracks with emotions. Because of this, probably in the future all my tracks will speak of nice memories. Thus, while I am listening to one track of mine, I somehow live again a precise period of my life. Producing is for me a way to communicate my feelings.”

10. How would you describe your sound?

“Alive.”

11. Who will considerably give direction to the scene soon?

“I do not know who, but I know what! The new technological progress will also give a new direction. Only who innovates himself will ride the wave.”

1. How would you describe your sound?
“A blend of melodic tech house, combined with steady grooves and edgy journeys to the deeper progressive-techno sound. Mood uplifting electronic dance music.”

2. How did you learn producing?
“A highschool friend of mine was producing a lot of hip-hop instrumentals with Fruityloops. He gave me a copy of the software and explained some of the basics. Learned everything by myself by tweaking knobs, watching tutorials, and playing the midi-keyboard. DJing was actually my main focus, so I decided to stop making music for a while. Three years later, I found my way back to the studio, and started producing music in Ableton Live. The learning process is never done. Almost every studio-session you learn something new by using your creativity and the instruments that you have. Reading or watching tutorials is also something I still do once in a while.”

3. Favorite track at the moment?
“Clavis - Alcine.”

4. Dream collab?
“That would be with Paul Kalkbrenner or Maceo Plex for sure.”

5. What do you listen to besides electronic music?
“Michael Jackson for life! Bands like The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, The Who, Fleetwood Mac, The Supremes. classical piano music, hip-hop (but not the new stuff) and I’m vibing really good on reggae and cumbia. Actually I like a lot of different genres, it really depends on my mood.”

6. Favorite DJ Setup?
“3x Pioneer CDJ-2000 Nexus / Allen & Heath Xone92 / Boss DD-7 Digital Delay / 2 Technics SL1200MK5g”

7. DAW?
“Ableton Live 9 Suite.”

8. Next release?
“My next release will be a remix on Chapter24, a UK based label who are doing really cool things and are definitely worth following.”

9. Where would you love to play live?
“The Terrace at Amnesia Ibiza. I’m in love with this room, it has a very unique energy, especially when the sun comes up in the early morning. Panorama Bar in Berlin is also very high on my bucket list. No further arguments needed I guess. And I have to name Warung in Brazil. That venue is out of this world. When it comes to festivals, I would love to play at Love Family Park, Germany, or Balaton Sound, Hungary. Monegros Desert festival and of course Fusion Festival are also high on my list.“

10. You in 10 years?
“Celebrating the 10th anniversary of my WEITER label. Having a residency at the Amnesia Terrace in Ibiza during summer season, and during wintertime at the Panorama Bar and Warung Beach club. And also busy with hosting WEITER events around the globe, expanding the musical platform with all sorts of activities regarding the electronic dance music culture. And of course playing at festivals like Love Family Park, Balaton Sound, Monegros and Fusion.“

1. How would you describe your sound?
“It’s obviously been through a lot of changes over the years but it’s always been groove and bassline oriented and I’ve always tried hard to find (and create) cool and original drum and percussion sounds.”

2. Most exciting club moment?
“My first time playing Cream at Amnesia, Ibiza about 15 years ago. A lot of my friends were there and it was just so exciting to be in that dj booth in such a legendary place. An amazing night!”

3. How did you learn producing?
“In 1991 I bought a (Ensoniq 16+) sampler with a built in sequencer and learned to use that, then bought a computer (Commodore Amiga!!) with a sequencer called 'Music X' and a small mackie mixing desk and learned to use that, etc. etc. It was a long, long learning process but I enjoyed every second and I was making records after 6 months - I’m still learning…”

4. Favorite track at the moment/all time?
“Maksim Dark - Electrobirds - on Octopus Black.”

5. Dream collab?
“Thom Yorke.”

6. What keeps you going?
“I truly love making music, after all these years I still get excited when I’m in the studio and I’m always inspired to make new stuff.”

7. DAW?
“Pro tools.”

8. What do you listen to besides electronic music?
“Besides electronic music I listen to a lot of rock music. From 90’s grunge stuff like Soundgarden and Smashing Pumpkins to Stone Roses, BRMC, The Cure, The Smiths, Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, etc. etc. A lot of soundtracks (especially Thomas Newman, Vangelis and Ennio Morricone) and a lot of ambient stuff like Brian Eno, Steve Roach and Robert Rich. I’m also a big hip hop fan - mainly old school hip hop but also some current stuff like J Cole and Kendrick Lamar.”

9. What is your trademark?
“I use a lot of my own vocals in my tracks - even if it’s just a couple of words with a lot of effects, it gives my sound a personal and unique touch.”

10. What makes you laugh?
“Peep Show, Reeves and Mortimer, the Mighty Boosh, Brass Eye, Blackadder, Bill Maher, Russell Brand, Will Ferrell…”

Especially dance music allows us to unify with the flow of the music. When we express the energy it releases within us, by just giving ourselves to it and following the spontaneous and authentic movements of our bodies, we can experience a state of connection, peace and joy. Doing this collectively, synchronously moving to the same rhythm and sharing this special experience, we feel a connection that resonates within.

With DIT KLINGT JUT we want to express our love for music and manifest the meaning it can have for all of us. We do this by providing a thoughtfully curated space for artists and labels to share their music, organizing events & live-streams and serving as a platform to share ideas on music and the creative process.
