INTERVIEW

1. Where do you get your inspiration from?
"I draw much of my inspiration from parties I play at. Suddenly I'll hear something that I really connect with. I don't care how old music is, either it affects me or not. There is so much good music out there. Some of it is old now, and people tend to forget a lot of that old music. Nowadays DJs play published tracks for only 2-3 weeks. In my opinion, this is really sad."

2. In which ways could the scene improve in the future?
"To improve our scene I would love to see DJs be brave again and not all being the same. I would love to see DJs thinking outside the box ot better yet, outside Beatport Top 50."

3. What makes you laugh?
"Sometimes you will see me laugh during a set. If you do, don't worry, I am just laughing about myself. It’s quite funny and it happens sometimes during my sets when I'm deeply focused. Being focused like that tends to take me into my own little realm, my favorite tunnel of a sort, in a different dimension."

4. Most profound insight you had since you started this career?
"There are 3 simple ways to achieve direct response on the dancefloor: Volume, tempo and pressure. I'm not the "simple way“ kind of guy 😁"

5. You in 11 years?
"I expect myself to spend a lot of time in the studio, but I really also hope I can keep on being able to play some cool gigs and festivals. I'm already to to old to die young."

The art of music has touched the hearts of human beings around the planet for thousands of years. It's a universal language with the ability to express what can't be expressed through words or thought. It can induce strong emotions, alter our states of consciousness and let us experience reality in a different way. It can draw us into the present moment, where just the music exists - unfolding through time, moment by moment. When we let go and merge into the auditory sensations, it takes us on an inner journey. Using this not to escape, but to fully embrace reality as it is, music can help us release tensions and bring balance to our everyday life. 
Especially dance music allows us to unify with the flow of the music. When we express the energy it releases within us, by just giving ourselves to it and following the spontaneous and authentic movements of our bodies, we can experience a state of connection, peace and joy. Doing this collectively, synchronously moving to the same rhythm and sharing this special experience, we feel a connection that resonates within.

With DIT KLINGT JUT we want to express our love for music and manifest the meaning it can have for all of us. We do this by providing a thoughtfully curated space for artists and labels to share their music, organizing events & live-streams and serving as a platform to share ideas on music and the creative process.
