Nies est l’alias créatif de Denise Pakes, fondatrice du label Rotate et cofondatrice de l’agence Rings of Neptune & kōrero. Originaire des Pays-Bas et ayant des racines moluquoises, Denise jongle entre Amsterdam, Paris et Berlin, s’engageant continuellement dans l’exploration musicale, les collaborations audiovisuelles avec des artistes partageant les mêmes idées et l’organisation d’événements ayant pour objectif l’activation culturelle. Paysages sonores chaleureux, textures étranges, atmosphères subtiles et lignes de basse larges - ses intentions musicales, que ce soit en tant qu’artiste sonore ou en tant que compositrice, sont claires : exciter les auditeurs, s’écouler organiquement, étirer le temps et plier l’espace dans une harmonie pure.

Nies is the creative alias of Denise Pakes, the founder of the Rotate label and co-founder of the Rings of Neptune & kōrero agency. Originally from the Netherlands with Moluccan roots, Denise juggles between Amsterdam, Paris and Berlin, continually engaging in musical exploration, audiovisual collaborations with like-minded artists and organising events with the aim of cultural activation. Warm soundscapes, strange textures, subtle atmospheres and broad bass lines - her musical intentions, whether as a sound artist or as a composer, are clear: to excite listeners, to flow organically, to stretch time and fold space into pure harmony.

Do we still need to introduce Ralph Maruani, known as Flabaire, co-founder of the Parisian label D.KO Records, bassist with the Secret Value Orchestra, soloist in his psych-rock project Aboukir and producer who has forged a melodic and cosmic universe all his own?
At the age of 30, with three albums already released and a number of EPs, appearances and remixes to his name, Flabaire is recognised by legendary artists such as Move D and Point G/DJ Gregory, as well as many of his more accomplished peers.
So it's with great joy and anticipation that we welcomed him for a set of finely channelled deep and dubby house.

It became a mania, a selfless habit, a way of relaxing. I don’t play much, however, for various personal reasons. Research, listening and selection occupy a very large part of my life. It will always be so. I’ve developed a taste for the wonder of it all.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐚 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐝𝐣 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐝𝐣 𝐬𝐞𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮?

Someone who’s focused on their thing. It’s a commonplace to place a thousand expectations on a dj and turn him or her into a fetish, a vent or an entertainer. 
This can sometimes work, but it’s not my vision.
A successful dj set could be like a well-equipped caravan with which you’d like to embark without knowing the destination. Of course, there’s the invitation to dance, to get drunk and have fun; but it can also be about reconciling the listener with certain emotions, reviving a numbed or misunderstood sensibility.

Daniel’s deep passion for music began with a classical foundation in childhood, evolving through genres and cultures before settling into 4/4 rhythms. His journey across Italy, the U.S., the Netherlands, and Paris brought collaborations with prominent artists, shaping his unique style. As dj « MIDS », Daniel distills tracks to their essence, blending harmonies and rhythms for a timeless, vinyl-driven sound.
Currently, he’s part of Poney.fm - a progressive, multidisciplinary, collective set to make waves across Europe.

Echoing this introspective time of year, we are delighted to share the third podcast of the soulspa series, meticulously curated by @martingoodwin

Best enjoyed by the fireplace or in your own haven of peace, Martin invites you on a journey of curiosity— one of his newly embraced guiding principles.

A versatile musician and producer with over 20 years of experience, Martin Goodwin is renowned for his compositions, which blend ambient soundscapes with rhythmic elements. As the founder of MGS Mastering, he offers mixing, mastering, and mentoring services for emerging artists.

Performing solo or as Wukar alongside Alkini (@kilian.itn), his work has been released on labels such as @silentseason and @tehnofonika.records.

He is currently composing a new soundtrack for a show by the "Compagnie Elephante" (@compagnie.elephante), with whom he has collaborated for many years. Additionally, he is working on an album with his father—a musician in the field of traditional music—fusing radically different eras, tradition, and electronic music.

𝘈𝘭𝘭 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘸𝘢𝘪𝘵

This might be the perfect way to describe this new 𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘴𝘱𝘢 crystallized by Da:mu.
Discovered on a sunlit afternoon at the very edge of France last summer, it quickly became clear that we wanted to invite him to be part of this project.

Born on World Music Day, Da:mu lives for sonic emotions deeply rooted in his body & mind.
As a co-founder of Öz (@ozcollective_), he shares a vision of free-spirited & colorful celebrations, embracing rhythmic journeys and unexpected mystical flights.
He is also one half of the rock’n trance-infused project Yland Sunr:ders with his accomplice diafan (@me_diafan), which resides on the imaginary utopia Ybyzär.

From the desire to (re)bring certain musical genres and universes into the spotlight, here is one of them, which we have the sublime pleasure of unveiling to you.

Social networks shape our days, pulling us in many directions—sometimes too many. But when used with intention, they become bridges, connecting kindred spirits across time and sound. That’s how we found Carmen San Pio, a seeker of hidden frequencies, a weaver of sonic textures that feel both distant and familiar.

A passionate vinyl collector, she drifts through the shadowy edges of downtempo, dub, and trip-hop, tracing cosmic visions and hypnotic echoes. Drawn to the velvety depths of the ‘90s and 2000s, she layers them with synth-pop, drum and bass, and deep house—always chasing that elusive glow where nostalgia meets the unknown.

Odd, trippy, multifaced. 

That’s how Andys — our next soulspa guest — sums up this mix. 
We’re pushing boundaries and heading east, continuing our journey all the way to Moscow, his home base and the place where this bold new episode took shape.

This new mix drifts away from the expected, mirroring the many states our minds can pass through — from moments of clarity to waves of confusion, from elevation to descent. It unfolds through layered textures and emotional shifts, drawing a sonic landscape that is both intimate and expansive — blurring the lines between rhythm and stillness, light and shadow.

A bit about him:
Andys is a Moscow-based musician, producer, and DJ with 16 years of experience. He’s also a seasoned sound designer and composer for film, theatre, advertising, and experimental art. Recently, he’s been diving into live performance — from high-energy solo sets to minimal-ambient collaborations with instrumentalists. He keeps spinning weekly and stays immersed in music-driven projects that keep things moving.

In short, a talent to follow closely.
