What Could Happen is an uplifting and upbeat indie anthem that features a pleasantly relentless chorus surrounded by melodic and shimmering verses. Throughout the production of the song, the band carefully danced the line between indie pop and indie rock, they also included some retro texture which glues the whole thing together in a nostalgic kind of comfort. Brothers Brady and Keenan Fitzgerald shared the role of lead vocals on this piece, bringing a new life and vibe to each transition.
Michael Burger provides the perfect percussive heartbeat for this summer jam, upping the energy with every drum fill, and grabbing our attention with his carefully placed silence.
Austin Fitzgerald sends the song off with an explosive guitar solo that honorably soars above mix.
The lyrics of this composition ask a simple but invaluable question "what could happen if we never give up?". LOWERCASE committee knows what they want, the question they are now asking themselves... and others is, what could happen if we never give up?

What Could Happen

‘Feel Again' was written after a meaningless hookup where I felt a desire for something deeper. As a young adult in LA, I was definitely influenced by our modern "hookup culture" to be satisfied with meaningless physical relationships but I began to feel empty and realized that as humans, one of our primary needs is true connection, care and affection. The song was written in the moment when I realized I wanted more. Literally a few weeks later, I met the love of my life.

ABOUT THE SONG

In singer and lyricist Andrew Gavin Williams words, "This song is about the many forms grief can take—particularly in the digital age. I read an article about a woman named Eugenia who made a 'digital monument' for her friend Roman who had died tragically in an accident. The memorial was an interactive chat bot that pulled words and phrases from email and text conversations between her and her late friend throughout the years. The article touched me but left me unsettled. While the conversations felt sweet and melancholy, it all felt a bit like the entering the uncanny valley. Does our technology make it harder to get closure? What ought we do with the digital remains of our loved ones?"

This is a song about facing your ego and coming home to your deepest spiritual self. It is a reflection on my early 20's when I was searching for answers and trying to heal from my own anxiety and depression. It became apparent that we all need to focus on our own healing and not blame others for the pain in our lives. You have to stay true to your path, keep your heart from growing numb, and always remember that you’re never alone.
