ounded in 2022, The Dark Table is the brainchild of Maxime Pelletier, a seasoned composer with a passion for metal music ignited since 2001. Drawing from his rich background as the founder of the renowned band Distorthead, Maxime sought to create a new sound rooted in deep ambition and creativity. His dream of living solely from his music became a reality as The Dark Table began to take shape.

Roots and Origins

Born on Halloween, October 31, 1988, in Ville Lasalle, Montreal, Canada, Maxime Pelletier's affinity for all things dark has profoundly influenced his musical identity. The enigma of his birth date has woven a thrilling narrative into his artistry, fueling the intense and powerful sound that defines The Dark Table. Drawing inspiration from the vibrant underground scene of Montreal, Maxime honed his craft, ready to carve a niche in the metal genre.

A Dynamic Collective

In May 2024, Maxime Lapensé, bassist of Hand of Horus, joined the band as a vital part of its evolving sound. Shortly after, Jack Wheeler, hailing from England, UK, lent his powerful voice to The Dark Table. However, life often charts its own course, and Jack departed to pursue his personal projects, leaving a promise of future collaborations. Just two days later, the band welcomed Vincent Desrochers, a dynamic young vocalist representing the new generation, infusing fresh energy into the group's vision.

Musical Journey and Evolution

As the driving force behind the band, Maxime has redirected the band’s style towards a unique blend of Synthwave metalcore and Darkwave, creating a sound that distinguishes The Dark Table from the rest. The band has already released two epic singles, marking the beginning of their journey in the metal music industry. This new direction showcases not only their ambition but also the versatility of their sound, ensuring they resonate with a diverse audience.
