Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky - The Nutcracker Suite: I. Miniature Overture (arr. Michael Axtell)

This track was created from MIDI performances back in the 1990s with Master Tracks Pro, Emu Proteus sound module, sound card and keyboard.

Instruments are digitally sampled/stored in the synthesizers and produce a lifelike sound when the keyboard is used. About 18-20 parts were performed using the orchestral score, one instrument and part each. It's a time consuming process, but worth the effort.

Just learning Apple's Logic Pro & hope to take this hobby once again using sounds from the Vienna Instruments sound library.

Felix Mendelssohn:  Cello Sonata No. 1 in B-flat Major, Op. 45

Practicing piano is something I NEED to do in order to keep my chops up and also give me inspiration for when I'm writing my own records.  This here was a favourite of mine many years ago when I was competing (though I'm more rusty at it now!).  Mendelssohn's beautiful Songs Without Words Opus 102 No. 4 or otherwise known as the The Sighing Wind.

I performed this on a Bechstein D 282 which gives it that metallic and powerful sound.
