Within the span of a year, Tallinn-based club night series and creative collective Shelter has managed to rally dozens of electronic musicians from all corners of the world to an unexpected meeting point by the Baltic Sea. By curating club nights that showcase local talents aside some of the brightest minds in electronic music today, Shelter has undeniably played a significant role in revitalizing Tallinn’s club scene.

More importantly, Shelter uses its platform to shed light on some of the worst humanitarian crises currently plaguing our planet. Beyond covering event costs, ticket sales proceeds from Shelter Showcase events have been directed to organizations who provide resources to those in need, including the Ottawa Black Diaspora Coalition in Ukraine and the Rebuilding Alliance in Palestine.

To celebrate 1 year of building bridges between communities and incubating forward-thinking electronic music, Shelter presents Feyrûse: a compilation album featuring 17 tracks by an intercontinental melting pot of musicians, majority of whom have graced the dancefloors of Shelter.

Feyrûse aims to capture increasing unity within the global electronic music community. The musical styles represented on the album are as varied as its diverse cast of artists, ranging from purpose-built hybrid club to serene and blissful melodic rituals.

olé - 'Calyx' (TAR029)

olé refines and re-armours his hologram-projected dembow blueprint on 'Calyx', triangulating his vision in some third plane between grounded and otherworldly. It’s a hybridisation of earthly filth and uncanny cyberperfection, a world where fury and focus meet and meld. 

It’s big. The soaring, panoramic strobescape of ‘Sunflower Cache’ conjures glossy, hyperreal environments and piercingly blue skies stretching into infinity. The blistering urgency of ‘behind the windowpane’ pairs euphoric pad n synth interplay with primal drum lashings and a gradually unleashed gabber kick that could crush sand to glass. It’s a dance on a battleground where everyone wins, aural brutality and delicately wound melodies on a united front. It’s hard but it’s elegant. 

This is more than a show of force. ‘Embrace’, ‘Copper Fields’ and gasp-inducing bonus track ‘Behind the Windowpane (Airport Ambience edit)’ offer trance-like moments of drum-stripped sway and swoon. Whether it bangs or soothes or both simultaneously, 'Calyx' is a collection of dizzying heartstoppers, music to lose and gather and reconstitute yourself within.

Emerging artist sofii, also known as Sophie Koella, announces her deeply personal debut EP I want this feeling to last forever, a self-produced meditation of 4 songs on emotion, memory, and the echoes of the unlived. Born from the necessity to process, the project weaves classical elegance, electronic textures, and lyrical repetition into a trance-like exploration of nostalgia: past, present and future.

Born in New Orleans to a French guitarist (who used to play with Bob Dylan) and an American mother, sofii’s life has been scored by contrasts: ballet and classic music discipline, jazz’s improvisation, and the restless energy of cities like NYC and Paris where she cut her teeth in its underground scene. After years modelling and djing, she stepped into music direction for Courrèges alongside Erwan Sene before claiming her voice as a solo producer. In 2024 she co-founded the Paris collective and event series More Hard Feelings alongside Emma DJ, Julia Lemaire, and Matière Noire inviting the likes of Skrillex, Varg2TM, Safety Trance and Bill Kouligas.

The EP’s lead single and title track is released with the album announcement with a music video. She elaborates:’Iwtftlf’ is a song about nostalgia for something we don’t yet know or have lived—also known as anemoia. It’s about a moment in time that stands perfectly still, a fraction of a second we wish would never end. This stillness, this calm before the storm, is at the heart of the track. It portrays a story suspended between the lived and the unlived, a memory that doesn’t belong to us yet aches like it’s already gone.

As for the rest of the EP, “Cry for Me” (reimagined with Greek producer Raed Raees) layers vocals like a cleansing tide, dissolving into a piano finale that nods to Sofii’s classical roots. The mantra “say it over” loops, invoking meditation’s rhythmic solace. “Remember“, penned in Paris, twists a crisis-born text message into pulsing synths and the EP’s only percussive heartbeat. And “Pocket Dial” samples a 3-minute voicemail from sofii’s grandmother—an accidental, aching relic of connection—set to wordless strings and synth.

FLORAS is the new album from katharsis founder jjjacob, releasing on May 21st to mark the five-year anniversary of the label’s first output. A celebration shaped by time, patience, and transformation, FLORAS is an assemblage of seven tracks - each with its history. The oldest dates back to 2018; the newest bloomed only months ago. Initially intended for other projects or collaborations that never fully took root, these compositions have been reworked, reimagined, and refined - transformed by years of quiet attention. Stylistically, the release moves between the physical and the introspective - crushed drumbreaks, poignant basslines, grand synth melodies, and obscure granular vocals.

Each track is like an ancient, fluorescent flower rediscovered in a distant cave, alien in form yet deeply familiar. Cyclical in structure, they mirror the seasonal processes: emerging, flourishing, decaying, returning. There’s a strange botanical logic at play, as patterns and shapes reappear like genetic echoes, and even discarded stems sprout new life. Melodic ideas and textural procedures reverberate across tracks like shared ancestral material, connecting them like a hidden underground network. Some tracks still bear traces of feedback or collaboration that never fully materialized - ghost limbs and branches that helped shape the whole.

Built from ambient textures, hard-hitting percussion, and sonic details that reward deep listening, FLORAS is a meditation on growth, time, and potential. The release reflects not only a shift in jjjacob’s personal process, but also a new chapter for katharsis itself: after five years of near-monthly releases, the label now turns toward a slower rhythm - giving each release more space to breathe, settle, and take root before moving on.

Hiiro Issiki’ s "Tannins" is a 6-track mini-album that blends immersive ambient, cinematic dance music (CDM), and techno, crafted with minimal repetition to shape an environmental soundscape. Inspired by movie soundtracks and emotional atmospheres, it merges ecstatic expression with meditative stillness, questioning modern society through deep, unshaped sound waves and abrupt noises.

To transform the structured art of “music” into ambiguous particles of memory and space. It is neither “story” nor emotion. It is the sensation of fragments, the memory of reverberations, the minute tremors of the unconscious. In other words, I want to present as a work of art the very sensation of “a faint blur in the silence. Time is not a line but a layer, melody is not will but an accidental stain, and “ to listen” is not to enter into the sound but to be blurred by the sound. I want to scoop up the contemporary “submerged sensation of being flooded with sound.
