This is the long mantra of Chenrezig or Avalokitesvara - the Boddhisatva of Compassion. The short version "Om Mani Peyme Hung" is said to contain all 84,000 teachings of the Buddha in 6 syllables. This recording is an offering of prayer to the people and land of Nepal after a devastating Earthquake caused much damage and many deaths in April 2015. Om Mani Peyme Hung is chanted for many purposes, one is to bless those who pass on to transition from this world into the higher realms. When we first started writing songs together we thought we’d keep it simple but found the allure of a full band sound too tempting to ignore. This song, about the destructive patterns we get locked into, is us fulfilling that original intention - just acoustic guitar, violin and vocals. The riff that underpins the song could have gone another way….that’ll be the next release.

Saber que la sangre de tus venas fue sacada de la sangre de tu Madre Tierra 

Su sangre cae de las nubes del  cielo y  corre por su vientre

burbujeando a través de los arroyos de montaña;

y en flujos de abundancia a través de los ríos en las sierras.

Reconoce que el aire que entra en tu cuerpo,

es la respiración de la Madre Tierra.

Su aliento es el cielo azul celeste,

Sus susurros, las hojas del bosque.

Reconoce que la firmeza de tus huesos se creó a partir de la solidez de los huesos de tu Madre.

La suavidad de tu cutis ha nacido de la carne de tu Madre Tierra.

La Luz de tus ojos, el alcance de tu audición,
floreció a partir de los colores y  sonidos de tu Madre, que te rodea.

Como las olas del mar acaricia a los peces,

Como el aire que vive y abarca las aves.

En verdad te digo que tú eres un@ con tu Madre.

Ella es una con contigo

Como tú eres un@ con ella.

De ella has nacido, en ella vives  y  volverás

a sus leyes y respeto.

Su aliento es el aliento;
