Recorded live in 2010 at the Burning Man festival, which takes place in the middle of the Black Rock desert.  Performances included those through a makeshift sound system powered by a 50 pound battery pack, which Dixon dragged by hand on a wagon through the dust.  Imagine the CD case you are now holding covered in sand.

The first time I participated in Burning Man was in 2005, and it was life-changing for me in many ways.  One of these was musically, in that the event encouraged me to express myself, my true self, and for the first time I tried to create my own music, improvising from my heart, rather than reading the sheet music of others.  When I realized that I could deeply connect with others through my own music, it profoundly affected me, and I thereafter changed my life priorities to allow more room for music in my life. What had been a hobby was now a passion, and I haven't stopped since!

Every sound you hear was created with one violin, live. Nothing was pre-recorded, and very little edited in order to preserve the original sound as heard live.

You've never heard violin like this!  The world's premier visionary violinist, Dixon's life mission is to inspire people - and he has done so across North America, including giving four TED talks/performances, over ten years at Burning Man and Electric Forest, plus radio, TV, and film appearances.  A former technology leader and symphony violinist, Dixon walked away from a distinguished career to follow his dream full-time, and invented a whole new music genre.  Dixon now improvises on a 5-string electric violin with a looping system he developed to create an all-live one-man symphony, guided by his remarkable personal story of life transformation.
