The andhim boys have been close friends of our family for nearly a decade, when we brought them to the US for the first time and they rocked a Brooklyn rooftop dancefloor with their infectious Super House sound. They are two of the most talented, hilarious, exciting and humble people in electronic music -- it's an honor to host this milestone radio show for a fresh new mix from the boys from Cologne. andhim are a German DJ and producer duo consisting of Simon Haehnel & Tobias Müller. Since their founding year 2010, they have published over 60 songs and remixes. They have worked with artists such as Theophilus London, Diplo, Hogni Egilson, Groove Armada and Elderbrook and made it to number 31 on the German Single Charts with their remix for Wine & Chocolates. 

The two describe their sound as “super house” - their very own definition of electronic music that, whether melodic or deep, always bears the typical andhim fingerprint. In addition to the musical component, the two have placed great emphasis on a strong visual concept in their representation as an artist, which is reflected in countless music videos. They always present themselves with a wink,
without sabotaging the seriousness of their art.

With over 100 international shows annually and residencies in New York, Los Angeles, London and Melbourne, they are among the most successful DJ duos in the scene. Due to their past as turntablists, their skills on the decks are unmatched. As part of the 'Noisy Stylus' turntable crew, Tobias became a multiple ITF and DMC champion and had a lasting influence on the scene at the time.

In 2016 they founded their own label Superfriends Records, a label that captures the pair’s charm and ebullience; one that has moved from gentle eclecticism through infinite fun into a refined and contagiously unique electronic sound. It is an outlet for the duo’s most ambitious ideas. An independent exercise in only the finest studio output from themselves to those that inspire, influence and impress.

Andhim have over the last decade cultivated an exceptionally loyal fan base of musical lovers and peers alike; that continue to crave the German pairs musical agility and action packed forays.

In 2020 their documentary film "Miles To Go" was released, a road trip along the west coast of America, which shows a deep dive into the lives of the two on tour and how they work with each other. The documentary has been shown at several international film festivals so far and has won two coveted prizes: “Best Score” (Swindon Independent Film Fest, UK) and “Best Documentary Feature” (San Diego IKFF, USA). The music in the film was written exclusively by the two and released at the same time as the film as a soundtrack album "Miles To Go".

This month, we explore the concept of anicca, the Buddhist word for impermanence or change. The mix weaves through sounds that are bombastic vs modest, dark vs light, groovy vs trippy, haunting vs heavenly, and so on...My approach to DJing is to keep sounds and feelings in a constant state of flux, never getting stuck in a single place. I believe a well-crafted mix is a metaphor for life: anicca, anicca...constantly changing, changing...

Since 2011 Ryan has became a constant element of the Traumschallplatten family and also started working with the label Areal in his adopted hometown of Berlin. In addition Ryan had already founded two of his own labels, offering the platform to new artists to promote themselves releasing alongside well known names. One result has been a worldwide collective with different labels and artists who are in constant contact, pushing ideas and music forward.

And that's what Marcel Sterling alias Marc DePulse wants to tell us with his releases and podcasts: there is no box into which you must fit in because you are free in your mind to do whatever you love. Being real, being authentic, being a full time music lover. That means: go to bed and wake up with only music in your head.

Whoever shed some tears while listening to emotional music can relate to what Marc is trying to achieve. It has to be ?music to remember? and make a big impact. And that could be a melody, a baseline, steady percussion or strong vocals. Marc has already connected a lot of that love with his music. In more than a decade represented by the strongest labels (150+ releases) and performing on the biggest international stages, Marc has established as a unique producer and DJ.

In 2014 he released his first single "No need to worry" on Noir Music. Another feature with the amazing Hollis P Monroe & Overnite has been released on Heinz Music. The single called "Dirty Deep DePulse" is a perfect name to describe Marcs sound.

This year the shuffle machine continues with remixes on Noir Music, Katermukke, Traum Schallplatten, Heinz and single releases on Tulipa and Einmusika Recordings. According to these productions Marc started a brand new blog and podcast series called "How I Met The Bass".

Self-reflective, critical, edgy, highly motivated and passionate about music - artist duo, live-act, DJs or simply spoken Kollektiv Turmstrasse reveal their story of success, which has not always been going into one direction only. Christian Hilscher and Nico Plagemann have been a scene’s mainstay for a good 20 years; two decades of intensively working, living, traveling, laughing and arguing with each other or, as the both say, ‘having a marriage-like relationship’. But aside from the all too human sides, Nico and Christian provided the community, the scene with several formidable releases like ‘Abenteuer Alltag’, the duo’s first EP on Diynamic, ‘Blutsbrüder’ on their very own label Musik Gewinnt Freunde, ’Rebellion der Träumer’, their album on Connaisseur Recordings, ‘Sry I’m Late’ or their upcoming ‘RibbonReef EP’, just to name a few. But their discography contains more than catchy chord-influenced potential hits, it reveals what’s most important to them, their relationship, what they enjoy in their time off, the everyday life and situations they experience and also unveil certain gaps in-between some of their music. ‘In-between’ seems to be the word that best describes the chat with Christian and Nico as Torture the Artist catches up with Kollektiv Turmstrasse in-between the release of their ‘Noisy Nights’ remixes for Holtoug on Connaisseur Recordings and their first EP, ‘RibbonReef’ on Musik Gewinnt Freunde, after three years. The music collective gives reasons for temporal gaps ‘in-between’ their releases and if you read ‘in-between’ Nico and Christian’s lines you’ll discover what, aside from the obvious and mentioned reasons, is significant to the both at a human and musical level and why they are still as motivated and passionate about what they do as back then when they started - just a little bit more mature, maybe professional but definitely honest and (self)-critical.

Founded in 2006 by Solomun and Adriano Trolio in Hamburg, nowadays undeniably amongst the hottest imprints worldwide: Diynamic Showcase events all around the globe, Diynamic Festivals in Amsterdam, Berlin and Brazil, two own weekly residencies on Ibiza including the infamous “Solomun +1” events at legendary night club Pacha and the Diynamic Outdoor event series as well as own stages at major music festivals everywhere.
