People take it almost for granted but it’s such a technical and logistical challenge to run an artcar in the desert.

Festival grade tech - generators, PA, lighting etc - has to fit inside a tiny bus and kept running for a week. Overheating is the main danger, mechanical wear and tear due to dust and vibration is substantial. Generators need constant refueling. Easier said than done when the fuel truck does not show up due to sandstorms.

Then you need a bunch of security to keep people from being run over or falling off the artcar. The chaos these crews have to manage is substantial.

It takes a village. 🙏🏽❤️"

It's time to reminisce on Echoes from Agartha 2023. The epic transition from night 🌙 into day ☀️ was marked by an extended closing set by the one and only Bedouin.

Echoes from Agartha is an experience that exists in the center of Music, History, Culture, and Culinary to stimulate the senses and connect to your core. This is a 4-day odyssey to Cappadocia, the heart of Anatolia an area also known as “Cradle of Civilization” for the number of innovations that arose from the early societies in this region, which are among some of the earliest known human civilizations on earth. We welcome our community to one of the most breathtaking locations in the world to be part of an unparalleled adventure. A gathering designed to elevate your frequencies offering the best in music, culture, Turkish cuisine, and workshops in the naturally and historically rich Turkey. We are excited to showcase the unique feature of the ancient land of Cappadocia and its culture as it is the center of our experience.

“This mix is inspired by a touch more Afro than I usually include in my sets, but it still has a distinct “Meyer” feel, as many of the tracks feature the typical clave pattern that’s present in most of my work. I’ve been incorporating Afro elements into my sets for over 10 years, though it’s never the only style I play. I enjoy blending different genres because it’s more creatively challenging.

A friend once told me, “You play so many different genres in one set, but it always sounds like you.” I think that’s a great compliment. For this set, I leaned more on the classic Meyer sound to maintain the flow. Hope you enjoy it!”

Life and work. Berkhahn was born in Anklam. He grew up in East Berlin and was aiming for a career as a professional footballer or a long-distance runner, an ambition that was thwarted due to injury. In the early 1990s he began DJing under the name Dixon in Berlin clubs such as Turbine, Tresor, E-Werk and WMF.
