Gordon's Suitcase formed in 2003. Extensive gigging on South Africa's club and festival circuit led to the recording of their critically acclaimed first album "Good Girls like Good Music". The band members have not rested on their laurels and continue taking their sound to new audiences, collaborating with other musicians and creating restless ambient soundscapes. 

While keeping up with regular gigs in Pretoria, Gordon's Suitcase has also been playing some scintillating shows in nearby townships, with audiences revelling in the band’s cross-cultural appeal. 

Musically, the band has continued to move forward while always being willing to tinker, improve and improvise on their old songs while playing live. This spirit of experimentation has led to musically enriching collaborations with other musicians such as Greg Georgiades and Piet Botha.

Gordon's first played with Greg Georgiades at the 2005 Easter Oppikoppi Festival. From there the partnership went from strength to strength with Greg regularly joining the band on stage. A reworking of Greg's song "Glide" is slated to appear on the new album.

SA rock legend and new collaborator Piet Botha reveals a different side to Gordon's. Old favourites such as Johnny Cash's "Hurt" and Bruce Springsteen's "Magic" often find their way onto the set list on these nights. Gordon's Suitcase has had to work hard to adapt to this genre change but the reward of making their music accessible to a wider audience has been well worth it.

Members who have joined Gordon's Suitcase permanently since their formation are: Peter Angeloupelo playing rhythm and lead guitar as well as Casper Steenkamp on tenor and alto saxophone.

Gordon's sound on the new album reflects the bands' maturation. There is a jazz approach to things but the music wanders around. The new album has a more loungy sound with a warm, hearty and soulful feel. Vocals are still generally absent, pushing the listener to come up with their own interpretation of the song. The ineffable magical quality of Gordon's music has not been lost.

The album is in the process of being recorded independently at the band’s own studio and record label, Wagon Wheel Records. This allows Gordon's Suitcase to take full control of the recording, producing and mastering processes. With a new album soon to be released and several exciting collaborations coming up, Gordon's Suitcase is sure to continue leaving audiences gobsmacked.

A blend of folk and contemporary sounds,  Lilly Million's music has been described as soulful, honest and ahead of its time. Many who have encountered Lilly's music are intrigued by her off-the-wall presence, unique voice, originality and lyrical poetry.
