Nu Season is a jazz band that has five members; Bongani Mehlela Bass Guitarist, Joe Ndimande Lead Guitarist, Lefa Bembe Keyboard Player, Tshepo Mphela a Saxophone player  and Lindo Sibanyoni Drummer. They are well known in Witbank as Sounds of Kwa-Guqa but they have recently changed their name to Nu Season because they believe that this is a new season for them filled with great aspiration to reach the peak of their success/career. The band members met at Mzansi Jazz Lounge were they were part of different group; from their mutual love and interest in music they started their own jazz band in 2005. And later on 2012 joined by Tshepo Mphela to make a unique sound from the township of Emalahleni.  
They have graced Moretele Park with their presence. Their first performance as a group was at Witbank Dam in 2005 and they perfumed there until 2010, other platforms that they shared together as a band are Zithabiseni Jazz in 2006, Siyabuswa Arts and Culture in 2007, Mbombela up in smoke Lowveld Show Ground in September 2008 and being curtain raiser for Freshly Ground in December 2010 at The Ridge. Their latest performance was at the SABCOHA SAPEA Mini Conference 2012 in Turffontein Johannesburg.  Besides their performance at the jazz festivals and concert they are mostly known for their work as a session band. This includes playing for different Pubs, weddings, functions and churches. Their love and interest in music started at church. All the band members play two or more instruments.
The band has proudly recorded their five track album called Singabanqobi. Even though  they had limited funds, they decided to use little that they have to record and be known. We are hoping that we will be realizing our 11 track album in spring 2013.
