The french artist is a resident of @androgyneproductions and next to this is an advocate for the 'Consentis.info' initiative that is committed to creating safe spaces and a sexual consent culture in festivals and nightclubs. A personal note about the mix from the DJ herself:

The amount of hard work, commitment and energy which goes into running a festival is unfathomable. It might seem easy to dump a few dj's in a field for a weekend however to actually build the entirety of the experience into something which has meaning, has purpose, has an identity and a soul is a whole different thing entirely.

Sarcus Festival is an emerging French festival who are this year keen to target a wider European audience. The growing event has become a staple of the French festival calendar, showcasing local producers and dj's in a way which is unrivalled and eclectic.

This year the festival will take place in the 9th of September and play host to a cast of dj's and friends who each share the collective vision of this unique festival which places great emphasis on environmental stability and disconnection.

Phones are locked away, guests and artists are asked to travel by rail rather than fly and the goal is to create a renewable experience which excels and represents the very best of underground music culture.

Oh and then there's the music. This year they've booked the likes of Bambounou, Luca Lozano, Jane Fitz, Jamie Tiller, Voiski and many more.

We invited the crew to record a mixtape and show us all about the sound of the festival, whilst they reflect on what makes Sarcus so special.

There are many Latin words for happiness, but this word stands out in particular because it means that you can be happy if you set your mind to it. The mindset is what makes you happy, and happiness has the meaning of being in an attitude, that is, a mindset, attitude, or posture.

@ABS8LUTE is a French music activist and passionate digger. As a
trance lover - Goa, Deep Trance, Neo-Trance - she enjoys taking
her public on cosmic trips with dance and rave flavors. Outside
of the DJ booth, she works for a better representation of women
and POC in the industry by writing for music medias like
Mixmag France, by animating talks and debates on inclusion for
the Paris Electronic Week, and by creating the Vénus Club, a
collective of women DJs that recently took the French electronic
scene by surprise. Her unique take on rhythm led her to be on
the same line up as Anetha, Jensen Interceptor, Kasper Marrot,
Under Black Helmet and Mary Lake, now she recorded an outstanding mix for us you can listen above! Mana Full Force!

We're so happy to have Milo @milocph gifting us this beautiful mix. Milo has tirelessly killed it with both her selections, dance floor energy and iconic fruit altars 💕

> What were the thoughts behind the mix?

It's been a while since I have recorded a set that wasn't meant to be heard in a club setting, and I had a great time putting tracks together for the curious listener. That being said, I also love creating journeys for the dancers, and I wanted the set to reflect the pre-party you have with yourself in the bedroom before going out to a big night! A good mix of energizing, sexy trance, breaks and techno.
Group Therapy has been a big part of the cutest moments I've had throughout the last year, and if I should put some audio on some of those memories, this must be the result!

> What makes a party therapeutic to you?

Community is the keyword! I'm a big supporter of parties that can manage to create a strong and loving community around them. I believe that healing within comes with the joy we can offer to others - that can be serving big smiles and moves on the dancefloor, spending hours on preparing a set to guide people through the night, holding space for the ones in need etc.

If I have a feeling I have contributed with something that have made a positive influence for the people around me and vice versa, my therapy session is succeeded!

> How do you make the perfect fruit altar?

The perfect fruit altar for me consists of 3 things - crazy amounts of beautiful fruits, vegetables and sweet snacks, cozy lights, plants and deco to create a warm and welcoming space, and last but not least the little jar with conversation starters! The convos coming out of this have been amazing to witness. The second time I did it at GT, I witnessed two people who met each other this night, draw a question and have a beautiful talk with tears in their eyes while eating bananas. Does it get more wholesome than this? ❤️

Mother of Whomp Annx (@annx-anna-whomp) has invited Lyon-based Subsism (@subsism): DJ, producer and co-founder of the ATOM collective for the latest edition of ‘The Sound of Whomp’. 

Subsim has put together an infectious hour of pumping froggy psy showing his eclectic selection across trance, breaks and bass. 

Checkout his debut EP on Matiere, a contribution on the fiery Crazed Behaviour label, and more to come, Subsism has not finished making a name for himself in France and beyond. Thanks for the rocket ship ride!
