The literal translation of Chamos is friends. Does this also apply in practice? Without a doubt! This DJ duo have been friends since high school and are making friends on the go wherever they spin their tunes. 

Chamos is originally from Arnhem, but nowadays they are active nationwide. Besides playing at festivals like Encore Festival, Paaspop and We Are Electric, they also rock stages like Paradiso, Melkweg, and TivoliVredenburg. To top that they also performed as pre-acts to big names like The Game. 

Whether you like it or not, you can’t avoid dancing during Chamos’ sets. With danceable and groovy music they can make everything move. Chamos’ sound can be described as a mix of hip-hop, r&b, afro, dancehall, and future sounds topped with a funky flavor. Melbourne artist DJ Smilez -- known for his curated sets and infectious vibe, has fans calling his unique experience "the Smilez effect".

A local to the city of Melbourne, Australia – DJ Smilez has been recognized to have changed the path from a nightclub DJ to one of the most respected within the industry. He made a name for himself not only for his choice of music but for the energy he brings when playing – by championing a sound that blends Latin Rhythms, Brazilian Drums and Hip-Hop – otherwise known as the genre Baile Funk.

Mastering his skills for over 6 years, from practicing in his “home studio” to local nightclubs, bars and private functions – even remembering his first gig at a small Melbourne venue Horse Bazaar, which may seem underwhelming to some, however to him, it was a humble step into what would turn out to be a career he could only dream of – this is where he has been able to perfect his ability to cross-sonic boundaries and step out of the shadow image known as the-ordinary-nightclub-DJ and into someone who is admired for his unaccustomed visions and creativity.
