“A love for life, a short temper for bullshit and a drive for being successful,” is how Akua Bishop—aka “B.I.” -- describes himself. A rapper whose liberated spirit and lyrical prowess are expressed through compelling songs, as his artist name signifies, B.I. means business.
 
Born in Manila to an African-America military father and a Filipino mother, B.I. was brought to the U.S. as a baby and raised in a single-parent home in the east side of Decatur, Georgia, “My dad was a DJ,” B.I. remembers. “It was just the two of us, so he had to take me to every gig and every party. It was my little self, sitting behind the DJ booth listening to George Clinton, Bootsy Collins and Parliament-Funkadelic. I absorbed it all.”
 
In elementary school, B.I. was drawn to the drums. At Southwest DeKalb High School – famous for its drum line – he excelled in concert bands. Joining up with two friends, he was part of 2Raww – an energetic young hip-hop trio. “I heard what they had going on and I thought, ‘ I could do this.’  I had a way with words.”
 
Sketchy business associations derailed the group’s aspirations and the allure of street life threatened to put B.I. away. “I got snagged up when I went down that road. It was the most devastating time of my life. My freedom was taken away. I was looking at a lot of time,” he recalls. Miraculously, it all worked out. “I came back a changed man. The lessons I learned would not allow to me go down that path; I was given a brand new start.”
 
Now, with a tight professional team, supportive producers and a solid business structure, B.I. is imagining the most powerful music of his life. “I listen to the track a million times and the message comes out naturally. It’s like a blind man with a paintbrush. He can’t see what he is painting but his mind tells his hand what color to dip in.”
 
The shades of B.I.’s songs are vivid, bright and vital. In his own words, his lyrics “…dance on the tracks.” And he prefers not to draw on negativity or to depend stereotypical urban themes in his lyrics. “Trying to deal with the day in or day out, making ends meet is depressing enough. Music frees me from that – I just come up with some feel good shit. It makes me feel good to express myself. That’s all music is anyway.”
 
As a persuasive cadence and an uplifted spirit illuminate an upward career path, B.I. is confidant, enthusiastic and original. “I don’t put myself in the same category as other artists,” He confirms. “This ain’t no Bisquik, it’s like your momma’s biscuits – we make it all from scratch.”

Tomasz Andrzej Haupa aka. Planktom started his musical journey in Germany at the age of 18. After his first club night experience he decides to buy a pair of Technics 1210s and a 2-channel mixer because he understands immediately that it won’t be the dance floor but rather the DJ-booth that allows him to express his passion for house music in an unconditional way. 

In Barcelona, his chosen home base, he starts to explore his playful and drifting style, gets inspired by his environment and finds his very own way of connecting with the crowd. His steady mixing technique matched with a widely spread repertory of underground house music have been his trademark since day number one. Home town residencies at La Terrrazza, Slow Club and The Warehouse and a countless amount of club nights, private parties, festivals, after hours and daytime events around Europe pushed him on an international level where he keeps spinning frequently. 

Planktom's hype in the last 2 years is the outcome of his hard studio work and impacting releases on imprints like MoodyHouse Recordings, Frosted Recordings, Juiced Music, Believe In Disco, Cruise Music, Doin` Work, PP Music and of course his unforgettable 4 track EP on Phil Week’s legendary label Robsoul Recordings. 

His tracks and remixes regularly break into the Traxsource and another download site Top100, appear in various compilations and are charted, supported and played by high rollers like Roger Sanchez, Mark Farina, Phil Weeks, Loco Dice, Demuir, Joey Chicago, Miguel Migs, Javi Bora and many more! 

In 2015 he founded his record label Black Bouwie Records where he releases music from young and fresh newcomers but also some real studio veterans like Iban Montoro & Jazzman Wax, Shawnecy, Pete Kaltenburg or Bonetti. 

His long-term relationships with many international labels, promoters and close contemporary friends, his natural talent, his desire to keep it real and his work-hard / play-hard attitude build the foundation for bright and successful future so expect tight mixes and hot releases on top notch labels in 2019!

Stephen Knight has a great deal of his life so deeply entrenched in electronic music, that becoming a DJ seemed more like an inevitability than a hobby. Growing up in London on a strict diet of House music, he began frequenting Fabric, Turnmills and The Cross and immediately developed a strong affinity for legendary DJ John Digweed, as well as a host of other high pedigree DJs and producers such as Sister Bliss, Xpress 2 and Argentinian maestro Hernan Cattaneo.

After moving to Southampton in 2000, away from the bright lights of London, Stephen was surprised to discover a thriving and energetic house seen under the helm of Gary Bennetton. He began, as many do, from the bottom and worked his way up, starting as a flyer boy for Southampton’s longest running house night – “Release” and began to further shape himself as a DJ.

In 2008, Stephen joined High Tide and has since helped take a mainly boat party based event into the mainstream of Southampton’s nightlife, hosting parties with some of the worlds most renowned DJ’s, as well as many exciting up and comers. In 2012 when the house scene began its resurgence back into the hearts and minds of many, and began to captivate a generation, Stephen helped orchestrate some of the best events Southampton has ever seen, including the brave choice to hold an outdoor party in the relatively unknown Sobar – a party that has since become a right of initiation for many Southampton house heads.

Among his memorable moments, Stephen cites warming up for astronomical names such as Seth Troxler, Jamie Jones, Sasha, Lee Foss, Scuba, James Lavelle and James Zabiela. Understandably so, with many of those names at the height of the game when it comes to electronic music. This kind of broad education has of course influenced Stephen a great deal – in his sets you can expect anything from stripped back, minimal groves to more melodic, uplifting and driving techno, the one certainty though, is that his set will leave you grooving away for as long as he decides.

Intrigue is right! There is no better name for this dj! Daven Treague arouses curiosity and interest with unusual, new and otherwise fascinating skills that force the crowd to succumb to his crafty musical plot. His experience, passion and pure energy overwhelm an audience with euphoric feelings one might only be able to compare to an illicit love affair.

His own love affair with the musical art of djing began at the age of 14 when he noticed the dj had an ability to direct a crowd, almost as if they were actors in his own show. This revelation began his drive to create his own productions with dreams of a complete cast to act out his schemes of intrigue. In less then two years Daven was booked Wed-Sat for weekly dj performances that included an all ages club called Area 54 and a live radio show called Rhythm Pit, broadcast from the Oklahoma City theme park, Frontier City.

During high school Daven began to rise through the ranks of the local Oklahoma rave scene but it was not until he traveled to Europe at the age of 18 that his EDM evolution found new direction. Attending large events in Russia and Amsterdam with names like Tiesto, BT, and Paul Van Dyk brought much clarity to his almost systematic plans of electronic ascendance.

Back in the states nothing could deter this dj from making this dream a reality, even if it meant refinancing his car to buy his first set of turntables and a mixer. Daven then enrolled in classes for music production and recording which later earned him a master’s certificate in Music Production and Technology from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. By now he was completely submerged in the rave scene, playing parties almost every weekend in Oklahoma and its surrounding states under his name then, Adict-D (a name appropriately given to him by friends that felt as though they needed to recognize his EDM and turntable addiction).

In 2008, prepared to capture every crowd, Daven was hired as the resident at The Copa. This was the same club he attended on a regular basis to get his own EDM fix. A short two years later The Copa was voted the top dance club in Oklahoma City, having the best music on the dance music scene. A very impressive accomplishment since the club had never been nominated in its long history. On the list again in 2011 Daven had to make the difficult choice to leave over musical differences.

In 2012 Daven changed the way downtown Oklahoma City perceived dance music by dropping forceful beats as the resident dj inside Posh, the largest and oldest dance club in OKC. The future is bright! Daven is now apart of the HAVOC dj line up and is the new resident Dj inside OKC's only 100% EDM bar, Frequency Night Club. Daven is also doing live performances at many dance music hotspots throughout the central US. His original tracks "Ride This", "I Feel it"  and "Polar Sky" to name a few have been used in live sets of many dj's throughout the region. Continuing his work in the studio more original tracks and remixes are being released each month, and His EDM Nightlife Podcast has stayed in the top 10 electro/dubstep charts since episode one. 

In 2013 DT took the stage alongside some of dance music's most talented performers. He performed with such artist as  Datsik, Heavygrinder, EOTO, Dieselboy, Downlink, AFK and Designer Drugs just to name a few. 

In the spring of 2013, Daven's desire to infuse innovation and musical dexterity into his performances lead him to DJ at Oklahoma's most acclaimed Music Festivals. including Norman Music Festival and the new Boomtown Music Festival where he delivered his visionary perspective of dance music to hundreds of eager listeners. The events were a tremendous success. The crowd reciprocated Daven's energy for the full length of his performances. Red Bull caught wind of his performance and booked him for consecutive shows on their summer tour.

Andy Falcs

Stomping through musical playgrounds is an exercise owned by Andy Falcs. As a product of the 90’s, with a tuned heart and the soul of a veteran, it’s Andrew who hails from Melbourne bringing life to the new age school of dance. From the smoothest house beats to epic progressive sounds or the thump of an electro banger, Andy Falcs shows us who’s boss. Really.

In less than a year, Andy took a steady plunge into the clubs. Taking his tunes with him and calving a proper position at the biggest clubs in Melbourne CIROQ at CQ & RESPECT @ Trak. In that time Andy has supported some big International & well respected artists like Roger Sanchez, Cedric Garvais, Will Sparks, Kid Massive, Denzal Park, The Stafford Brothers, Swanky Tunes, The Chainsmokers, The Only, Grant Smillie, John Course, Marlo, Ashley Wallbridge, Tydi & Timmy Trumpet. While making a surging appearance at PACHA Melbourne NYE this bright spark was on his way. Always bringing a star lined array of beats to move a dance floor, it’s no surprise the popularity has grown so quickly even his own music cant keep up. Andy has grown to relish the art of DJ’ing, proving apparent in the talent he exudes.

Inspired by the world’s groundbreakers Axwell, Alesso and Tiesto and incredible local talent like Dirty South and Danny Merx, Andy Falcs brings a new level to the console. At 15 he learnt from vinyl, where an old school approach created a never-ending emotional ride through dance music. 2012 saw the vibrant artist take his passion to the all time test, entering the Your Shot DJ Competition where he placed in the top 72 in Melbourne. and became noted as an exceptional talent. Carrying a melodic passion and the charisma to evoke a spark in anyone, it was literally only the beginning for him. With Danny Merx as a strong musical mentor, he too has provoked and inspired the creation of a budding profile successfully embracing the gifts of musical theory and piano.

With an experimental energy and craving for a rich tune, fellow DJs across Melbourne are supporting this uplifting talent with guest mixes a plenty from Kiss FM to Nova Nation. With head and heart held high, the music is on its way up with Andy Falcs.

Ever since Brian Pace emceed his kindergarten production of Star Wars, the microphone was always the place where he’s felt most comfortable. In fact, Pace’s journey has not always been an easy one, but through God’s grace and speed, he’s allowed him to become one of the most innovative and well-researched journalists in America.

Brian was born on June 1st, 1972 in Indianapolis, Indiana. His father was a scientist who eventually became a teacher and mom was a school psychologist. “My parents always stressed the importance of reading and education as a means to be self-reliant and to become your own person,” he explains. “My mother, who retired last year from the Indianapolis Public School system, claims I was reading at 18 months.”


Brian’s social skills were both a blessing and curse for he and his parents. As a child, his teachers were always calling home telling them about his excessive joke telling or, how he was the one who took leadership on a major project. These skills eventually paid off as he would become a successful producer.


His first exposed to radio and television was through WJEL-TV and FM at North Central High School. It was also during his junior year of high school the Youth Telecommunications Workshop of Indiana Black Expo brought the nationally syndicated Black Entertainment Television program “Rap City” for a taping. North Central was undergoing lots of racial tensions at the time and Indiana Black Expo’s program was a way to break the ice. While they we’re taping, Pace, who was the class comedian, made his debut as co-host of the “Rap City” with co-host and comedian Chris Thomas. He would co-host the program again during his senior year of high school.


Although Brian wasn’t asked back for his senior year at WJEL, the Youth Telecommunications Workshop invited him to join their program. “Gary Holland and IBE staff were the guys who helped me gain the business and professional side of not just television, but life,” explains Pace. “It it weren’t for the steady discipline and precise hands on experience of the program, I wouldn’t be where I am now.” YTW was a progressive program that taught African-American students between the ages of 12 to 18, the fundamentals of television production. The students wrote, edited, and hosted their own programs which aired on public access. Brian created and produced “Teen Chat” a talk show that centered around issues that them.


After high school, Pace would become an instructor and senior producer/videographer for YTW. He would produce P.S.A’s and spots for clients like Ameritech, Radio One, Mc Donald’s, and the Gospel Music Workshop of America.


Brian grew tired of becoming stagnate and decided to further pursue his education at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. It was there that he left television and became a Country/Western and Urban AC disc jockey at KPBQ/KZYP-FM in Pine Bluff while attending school full-time. “I knew nothing about country music and I just winged it. I had to pay my bills and playing Loretta Lynn and Red Sovine records helped put food on the table” explains Pace. He credits KZYP for his mentor and program director Floyd Donald for allowing him to voice and spot commercials. Also, Donald provided responsibilities for him that he’ll be able to use throughout his career. Floyd adds, “Brian was bright and mature beyond his years. His deep knowledge of music and politics is what would be his strong and passionate loves throughout his career.”


Another door would eventually open for the young broadcaster. WMC-AM in Memphis needed a producer and reporter for their weekends and during the week. So, Pace transferred to the University of Memphis and majored in Broadcast Media with a minor in Marketing. This proved to be a very hectic yet fulfilling for Brian. Not only did he work in radio, the news director at WMC-TV allowed him to intern at the same time. There was no free time for the young scholar and broadcaster. While in Memphis, Brian had an opportunity to work as a producer at WHBQ-AM and production assistant and DJ at WPLX-AM.


Upon completing college Brian moved to Detroit and worked as a production assistant and writer for WXYZ-TV. He then accepted the job at WXYT-AM as a producer and reporter where he wore many shoes. Answer phones, book guests, update the website, cover a story and make deadlines. This position allowed him to step into another role, as Executive Producer and Reporter for the I.E. America Radio Network.


He became the Stateside Reporter and Producer at Mississippi Public Radio covering issues ranging from race to environmental causes. A year later, Pace moved back to his hometown of Indianapolis where he was a stringer and statehouse reporter for Indiana Public Radio.


Currently Pace is a freelance journalist and producer for National Public Radio and Pacifica based in Harlem, New York.
