I was saving some of these jams for months, waiting for the right moment to send our hearts, bodies and souls into a wild frenzy as we once again journeyed on the road to Black Rock City. With the feeling of an expansive and dusty sunrise always in my mind, I was warming up the main room at Great Northern in San Francisco and it took no time at all for the space to pack in with fellow wanderers, dreamers and playa people who were ready to give in to the waves of sonic bliss. 

As we dive into the deep end together with our hearts open, just imagine that I’m right there along side you dancing my dusty boots off to the bitter end. First on the floor, last to leave. I’m looking forward to seeing you all on desert dance floor and beyond in 2023.

Take #19 - Bawn Morale, High Spiritto

Kayinda fait ses débuts - en nom uniquement - sur Bonzai Progressive avec le superbe deux trackers intitulé « TNT ». Composé du duo de producteurs légendaires Manu Riga et Phi Phi, qui ne sont certainement pas étrangers à Bonzai, ils ont sorti plusieurs titres en seulement quelques années depuis la formation de leur apparence Kayinda sur RPO Records, Vesta Records et Bedrock Records pour n'en nommer que quelques-uns. L'expertise et l'expérience que ces gars-là apportent sont inégalées. Leurs œuvres individuelles et collaboratives continuent de laisser l'auditeur bouche bée devant la qualité pure de la production. Deux personnes très motivées et vraiment gentilles, nous sommes toujours ravis de les avoir ici chez Bonzai.

'TNT' est le premier et sa base de basse profonde et grondante nous prépare à un voyage explosif dans l'abîme progressif. Des chapeaux scintillants et des percussions rythmées font taper du pied tandis que de gros coups de pied entraînent le groove. Des lignes de synthé arpégées et audacieuses tissent des motifs complexes qui créent un équilibre saisissant qui occupera la piste de danse. 'Rotation' complète l'album, offrant un groove tout aussi contagieux que son prédécesseur. Une ligne de basse lancinante et des percussions rythmiques rythmées créent un cadre permettant aux synthés staccato d'opérer leur magie, tandis que des tambours plus exotiques élargissent magnifiquement le spectre. Des voix froides jonchent le groove, ajoutant des tons plus sombres qui se fondent sans effort avec l'arrangement principal. De premier ordre et un must have.

Sometimes I feel the need to go back to my roots. Back to where it all begon; the Mid '80's! Sometimes we forget how good this era was. Easy going on the dancefloor. Rhythm between 114 and 120 BPM. Massively enjoying artists like Tom Brown, Quincy Jones, George Benson, Level 42, Gwen McGray, Patricia Rushen and many more! They fundamentally changed my musical upbringing and made me the DJ I am 40 years later. Please listen. 14 records. All extremely good!
