About the mix: All this past week, from Rio to Nola to Spain and around the world, people have been raging at Carnival parties, this mix is to remind everyone that the Carnival continues even after Fat Tuesday. The tracklist is heavy on tropical vibes from equatorial locations where stunner shades are a must. There's plenty of reggae and dancehall selections, but also a taste of Brazil, Trinidad, Panama, Dominican Republic, Ghana, Colombia, Angola and a few other places where people like spicy food. The mix peppers in a few Captain Planet remixes and finishes off with a brand new unreleased original tune that will be on his upcoming album "Esperanto Slang" which drops later this Spring. Captain Planet is the globetrotting alter-ego of music producer & blogger Chuck Wild. The Captain has a slew of releases available, most notably "Cookin Gumbo" (2011) and "Mystery Trip" (2012) which was featured in The New Yorker's "Best Music Of 2012" by Sasha Frere-Jones. 2014 will see the release of his sophomore full-length "Esperanto Slang" dropping later this Spring on Bastard Jazz Records. Kasia Malenda is one of the most promising Polish female reggae artists of our time. She has graduated music high school in saxophone class. Her parents are professional musicians and as long as she remember, they were "feeding" her with jazz and "black music". From the beginning she was fascinated by many, but she took the most from Erykah Badu, Beady Belle, Jill Scott,Earth, Moloko, Frank Sinatra, Lauryn Hill, Wind& Fire, or Incognito. Those fascinations and music education, have shaped her taste and sensivity. 
Kasia looks for a new inspirations and music experiences for a whole time. She thinks that in extreme projects you can learn most. Her mark is her sensual and delicate voice, with which she moves people's hearts. Music can be seen in her every move, on stage she's very self-confident and professional. Comprehensive talented, for all the time she develop her skills. Private she's volcano of positive energy, which she's giving to other people.


Dreadsquad – producer/DJ duo created in Lodz in 2001 and consisting of Marek Bogdanski (Selecta MMF: DJ, producer, graphic designer, promoter) and Lukasz Rodziewicz (DJ Funksion). In 2003 and 2004 they won the Polish Sound Clash.

They have worked with many European and Jamaican reggae artists (e.g. Ward 21, Tenor Fly, Top Cat, General Levy, U Brown, Milion Stylez, Lady Chann, Tipa Irie, Jah Mason, Perfect, Dr Ring Ding)
Dreadsquad’s tunes and gigs are the fusion of reggae, dancehall, ska, rocksteady and hip-hop. The duo freely mixes genres, plays with sounds and bases their music on deep bass and broken rhythm. They often combine Jamaican music with modern sounds of Breakbeat, Jungle, Dubstep and Garage.
According to the musicians themselves, their music – being energetic and lively – is made for dancing and having fun. And they are right. Go to one of their gigs and you will surely hit the dance floor. Music is their passion, hobby, way of life and it shows.
