WAIFU is a queer party in Tokyo that aims to be an intimate, safe space designed to be enjoyed by all kinds of open-minded people, regardless of gender, sexuality, race or age.This month's guest is Tokyo-based DJ imus. Having started her career in 2021, she mainly selects UK dubstep, bass music, techno, and downtempo and favors hard sounds reminiscent of metal and jewels, percussive grooves, and intricate beats. imus pursues the tensions and rhythms that arise from the overlap and spread of each sound.This show was recorded at SPACE in Tokyo. Opened in July of 2021 in Tokyo, this new club has already gained much respect for its flawless lineups and dedication to put forward fresh, radical talent.The visuals, filming and direction are by VJ Camel, organizer at Kaitai-Shinsho. Kaitai-Shinsho is a long-standing party as well as a record label, known in the underground Tokyo scene for its experimental edge.

We stumbled across Zoe Pea at a little basement party in Bristol a few months back. Zoe was playing all night long with Jacob Amos, and the two of them completely blew us away. 

Since that party we’ve been tuning in to all of Zoe’s Noods and Narr Radio shows, and it wasn’t long until we were pestering her to record us a mix for the series. 

Zoe described this recording as scatty and rough round the edges, sounds about right! It’s also the perfect warm up for Zoe’s set at MOT on the 27th for our Red Haze party. We’re already getting giddy about the idea of hearing Zoe’s records on a system again, make sure you don’t miss her warming up the sweatbox that is Red Haze at MOT on the 27th !

K.Woon is a homegrown crate digger of dark and dissonant sounds ranging from dub to brutal techno; from IDM atmospheres to intriguing aural textures; from rhythmic noise to deconstructed beats and so on. 

K.Woon is also an academic who work on how emerging technologies, such as streaming platforms, social media, AI and algorithms- reshape the music discovery experience and suggest pathways towards a more sustainable creative industry.

ジャンルを問わず国内外の先鋭的なアーティストを招聘する。

2016年から諸事情により、DJ活動を休止。

人間活動と楽曲制作に集中。

2018年末に12inchリリースを主とするレーベル『Prowler』を立ち上げ、第一弾として自身の1st.EP“Esoteric Communication”をリリース。

2019年DJ活動を再開。

自宅のスタジオで録音しました。

2. コンセプトがあれば教えてください。
最近現場でよくかけているベース物と、このところ盛り上がってるハードテクノを良い感じにMIXしました。

3. 最近の活動を教えてください。
自分のレーベル“Prowler”から第二弾12inchシングルSumisonic『Flail EP』が発売になります。

Bside Incoming: Rudolf C

We’re very pleased to continue the global journey that the Bside Incoming series is taking us on, as we are welcomed into the record bag of the Berlin based Aussie - Rudolf C. 

There is no doubt that Australia has seen the rise of some of the most exciting electronic producers this decade. Rudolf C's passion for extraterrestrial electro has pushed boundaries in the genre, from producing soothing experimental floaty breaks, to pounding club ready electro.

In 2015 Rudolf C and Shedbug created Salt Mines Record to drive the sound they aimed to push forward. Each release since has been filled with a difficult to master balance of both heavy hitting club tracks while maintaining emotion with creative pads and synths. Salt Mines has pressed records with some of the biggest producers in the electro/extraterrestrial scene; Jenson Interceptor, Roza Terenzi, Reptant, Shedbug, Escape Artist and more all contributing. 

Rudolf C, has himself released tracks on labels like X-Kalay as well as his own Salt Mines baby. The rest of the time you can find him touring across Europe and tearing up many a dance floor with his partner in crime Shedbug. Always endeavouring to put their talented colleagues in the spotlight and share their scene’s music with clubs across the continent, that’s what we love to see.
