Daniel James (Dj-Danny T) - I have always had a love for music, ever since I was a little kid! I started mixing when I was about 14 and fell in love with instantly it. When I started out mixing was a teenager in Leeds back and I was one of the lucky ones who had some of the best club nights and clubs in the UK to go to. In the early nineties when the big clubs, nights and house radio stations like Speed Queen, Casa Loco (Lady Lane), Boiler House (Bradford), Love to be (Mint Club), Club NATO, Up Yer Ronson at the Club Europa, Gatecrasher (Sheffield), Kiss 105 fm, Majestik were all at their height, I started sneaking out of my bedroom window climbing down the kitchen roof and was hitting the amazing Leeds City Centre! This was a massive influence in my musical and social habits which I have today, although I don’t have to climb out of any windows to get into town any more.All of the DJ’s from back then were always mixing out on vinyl, which is what I learnt to mix on. I started off with some Stanton belt drives before begging and pleading with my parents to buy me some Technics 1210’s, which took me about 2 years to get! I love to dust off the Vinyl I have, so I generally play both when the venue has 1210’s!!! I love the musical roots I got in Leeds in the mid to late 90’s covering Organ/Bassline house, which was quickly followed by Funky House, Electro & Deep House. I have played at many venues in and around Leeds, Bradford and Yarm over the years.When I was in my mid 20’s I started putting on nights with a difference, by hiring out large mansions and penthouses and putting on private parties. I did this for 2 years before I began my love for the radio. It all started with the famous Radio Frequency in Leeds which was broadcasting on FM. I played on this pirate radio station for circa 7 years. When I started off I was doing a graveyard shift on a Friday night playing 3-5am which gave me the Radio bug!! I found my feet very quickly and progressed on to do the drive time show on a Wed, Thurs & Friday afternoons 3pm – 6pm which made me hone my skills and fall in love with broadcasting. Following Radio Frequency and I moved onto Chartmix.fm which was an internet based station and continued my love for radio for around 12 months, until I moved to the Allstar team.After taking a break from radio, myself and a group that share the love and passion for radio decided to apply for the ofcon license. We were awarded the FM broadcasting license in May 2018 and so begins LDC Radio. A new chapter in the Leeds music, I for one cannot wait to see what the future brings.
