DJ DIPO taught himself DJ mixing with two "Technics SL-1210" turntables and a DJ mixer in the late 1980s. Since there was no internet and no tutorials on so called "DJ mixing" at the time, he had to rely on copies of DJs in discos and clubs and the DJ magazine "Network Press" at the time, which he did brilliantly. He had DJ mix shows on "O.K. Hamburg" and on radio "ENERGY 97.1 Mhz". In his home studio, DJ DIPO produced 20-minute-long DJ mixes for "ENERGY 97.1 Mhz" over four years, which he always put together differently with new DJ mixes for his 60-minute show. At the end of the year there was always an "annual megamix" (60 minutes of non-stop DJ mix). In addition, DJ DIPO was also employed by the radio station and it`s advertising partners as a so-called "off-air DJ" for the station`s live events (e.g. "Hamburg Harbor Birthday", "New Years`s Eve Party", "Clessico" discotheque, "Viva-Wentorf", "Mic Mac Moisburg" etc.). Further "DJ assignments" due to the popularity took place shortly afterwards in and around Hamburg (e.g. discos and clubs in the "Kiez" / the Reeperbahn / Große Freiheit / "Schanzenviertel" in Hamburg, also in the surrounding area of Hamburg). DJ DIPO has also been a very successful "wedding DJ" for many years. The current hit single "Weekend Warriors" is a further development of DJ DIPO as a producer in studio production.
