Thanks for this! I was the agent that booked this African Headcharge performance ... if you remember, Bonjo was nowhere to be seen when he was due to perform and the audience, via Adrian Sherwood, started chanting 'Bonjo, Bonjo, Bonjo' he was finally found sitting, playing drums arouns a campfire with some punters! Great show ... the majority of fans don't know that this was African Headcharge's first Glastonbury gig ... it wasn't in the official programme as it was a late booking and the programme had already been printed.

I don't think Lee 'Scratch' Perry was there ... I was in the wings of the stage so would have seen him ...

In Hour 2 we welcome Adrian Sherwood, legendary UK dub producer and On-U-Sound founder who has been active in the music business since the 1970's. He has long been regarded as one of the most innovative and influential artists in UK reggae, dub, industrial, post-punk and beyond, having worked with the likes of Lee "Scratch" Perry, Vivien Goldman, Mark Stewart, Cabaret Voltaire, Nine Inch Nails and Bim Sherman. His incredible On-U-Sound label released Vol. 2 of his compilation series Sherwood At The Controls earlier this year, putting the spotlight on his productions and remixes between 1985 and 1990. His more recent output has been alongside Pinch and productions with Coldcut, who are playing with Adrian Sherwood at London’s Jazz Cafe on December 3rd as part of ‘Sherwood at The Controls’ series with, Dennis Bovell, Crucial Tony and Perry Melius. He told us;

This a 'bootleg' recording taken from within the crowd in front of the world music stage at Glastonbury Festival 1990.  It has never been heard before.  I have never made any money from it and give it freely. I recorded it using a Sony walkman professional. It captures the amazing atmosphere and you can even hear the sound being mixed by the wind as it blows it across the huge crowd!  Best memories and inspiration shared to enjoy and enlighten!  Biggest respect always to Adrian Sherwood & On U Sound artists.
