This mix pays tribute to the sounds of early 1988. Back then in London it was all about clubs like Spectrum & Future on Mon & Thu nights respectively, Enter The Dragon on a Wed and Trip at Astoria at the weekend...Included are early Chicago and New York tracks with Future being more experimental with New Beat & Balearic themes. Spectrum was where it was banging tho…I can always remember the Heaven laser rig slowly descending towards the dance floor when Slam by Phuture Pfantasy Club was doing the damage…mmm wicked.

Trying to recreate the vibes from these large scale outdoor parties, so not always the most commercial tracks on display. The underground tracks that fired the spirit of the groove very much a theme at these parties and captured in this mix.

Dispatch Recordings proudly present ‘Dreamland’ – the 2nd solo album from Bristol based DLR.

Continuing where his 2015 debut ‘Seeing Sounds’ left off, ‘Dreamland’ is an album concept that reflects on the world today. Encouraging people to challenge the barriers and comfort zones we blissfully exist within, DLR seeks to resist the inadequate reality we are sleepwalking into; an inherently greed based system, where numbers govern art and culture, whilst popularity determines the success of social causes, as issues are picked up and dropped in the blink of an eye.

Musically, the album is honest, straight up and sound design focused, as DLR pays homage to the older styles of DnB, building on the genre’s core principles, writing his own chapter in Bristol’s long running heritage. A statement of intent towards soul and groove driven music, each track is personified by simple ideas meticulously arranged, as DLR prioritises the raw elements to enhance the groove and sub bass, allowing each aspect enough space to breathe and develop.

Before the full album drops, this sampler will feature two DLR tracks, including ‘Pyoyb’ (as supported by Friction two weeks in a row on Radio 1, also aired by Noisia on their Radio show series), plus a collaboration with Script, available exclusively as part of the sampler release, entitled ‘Wheel Of Fortune’ (as featured by DJ Randall recently on Rinse FM).

Following a recent surge on the Dispatch LTD imprint, we take things back to the core, with label stalwart Survival, who featured on the very first LTD release (001).

Dropping an incredible Metalheadz LP in July as SCAR (with Script), LTD028 sees Survival harness his deft production prowess towards a first solo release since his USB Album in 2014 (exclusive to USB, with all copies quickly selling out).

Teeing off with three tumultuous tracks, Survival returns with a technically flawless display, with low ends bursting at the seams and a ruthless use of space.

Treat this single as a warning of what’s to come, because we’re pleased to say much more solo material is on the way, including a new Survival album in 2017.

AMNESIA HOUSE - 30 YEARS OF RAVE - SEPT. 1, 2018 - Amnesia House is the original warehouse/rave organization from the Midlands in the U.K.  My first show with Amnesia House was in 1990.  28 years in the making.  So how do you prepare for a residency you had in the U.K. 28 years later?

You can't possibly play 30 years in a 90 minute set.  It's impossible.   I went back to the golden era of rave.  1988-1992.  Most of the redux stuff I do doesn't fall far from the tree.  It's the same songs with a different twist and that added with a few current things made this into one interesting set.  Everything was on the fly, my apologies for a few technical issues.
