Witches Are Back collective released a 13 tracks compilation to support the campaign “Nessuna da sola - sostieni le sexworker” promoted by the transfeminist collective Ombre Rosse and a wide network of pro-sexworkers associations.

The original tracks are donated by 13 artists, and express many shades of the witches' sound: from noise to industrial, from techno to acid house, from dancefloor oriented tracks to electronic experiments.

The purpose is collecting funds to help sexworkers in Italy during the COVID19 emergency.
In Italy many "non conventional" jobs have no real income (mostly black money) and are invisible for the italian government. So they have naturally no access to any kind of social assistance benefit. For the sexworkers already living in precarity and difficult conditions, this has become a real humanitarian crisis.

One year after the release of Roland Kaiser Wilhelm's acclaimed „Indigo EP“, the Berlin/Cologne label Papercup Records delivers two top-notch remixes. While Roland relocated from Cologne to Berlin, also changing his label and adding more live-played funkiness to his Balearic Barock sound, Lucas Croon, the title track's remixer, still resides in the Rhine-capital (and home of DAF and Kraftwerk) Düsseldorf, where he deejays in the famous Salon des Amateurs as a resident, when not playing in his bands BAR (Band am Rhein) or Stabil Elite, producing his own music or working on movie soundtracks. But he has also been visible in the Berlin club-scene a lot lately (well, before Corona, that was), shaking the floor in places like Paloma Bar, ACUD or Arkaoda.

His „Indigo Blue Jeans Mix“ relies heavily on the famous slapbass patch from Korg's classic M1 synthesizer workstation, while also adding pitched real and sampled vocals and lush chords. Its playfulness suits the track pretty well, and the production is so rich in detail it's an extreme pleasure listening to it both in the club or on headphones. The beat evolving from broken into straight four-to-the-floor also makes it an ideal bridge track to clubbier parts in a set.

Conga Fever's „Hookah Mix“ of the track Archangelsk is a whole different affair, a deep, oriental journey with fat bass and a truly massive drop. It's still utterly melodic though, and the visionary melodic guidance sets itself apart from most of the current productions out there.

Both tracks have been lovingly mastered by Berlin's Steddy, who really knows how to meticulously shape the sound of any track in order to bring fatness to the dancefloor.
