By way of extreme contrast, HC19 is, yeah, something completely different. A selection of rather poptastic old-school mashes and remixes in a reggae / hip-hop style with a little funk thrown in, some of which you've probably heard if you've caught Eric playing somewhere early in the evening. J*Star, Shepdog & Nuffwish/Bangers R Mashed get a couple apiece, as they're all pretty much solid quality when it comes to this sort of thing. Definitely a mix to keep in mind when those long summer evenings come along (unless you're on the side of the world that's got them right now, in which case, here ya go!)

Been wanting to do this for a while, and it seemed like it would be a daunting undertaking, but seeing as Ableton & Soundcloud have donated some extra free space on here for a few months, I thought I'd better use it, and it all seems to have turned out rather splendid indeed. Three one-hour-or-so mixes and a compendium of some of my favourite mashups, remixes, edits and general insanity, or at least the ones that I could string together in some sort of coherant order. If you've heard me DJ at any point over the Kleptones lifetime, there will be more than a few familiar things here, for sure...

So here you go, nearly three and a half hours - 70 tracks and a few uncredited inserts and nibbles. And there still wasn't room for any Drum'N'Bass, or any mellow stuff... and I tried to limit each producer and artist to one appearance only (Tried and failed as a couple are in there twice...) - guess I'll have to pick all that slack up in future mixes, won't I?

Hectic City 14 - M3B Part 2: Stop That, It's Silly...

As one of the most instantly recognizable imprints in the breakbeat world, we are always thrilled to see the return of Breakbeat Paradise, who touch down here with four tracks of groovy dynamite from Funkin Basstards. We kick off alongside the catchy vocal smotherings of Sofia Kamina, who lays down some smooth tones over the high energy instrumental to '2000', followed by Kurnel's electric performance on 'Soul Disco'. Next, Sofia is back with more vocal brilliance on funkadelic 'Feel The Vibe', before 'Drop The Mirrorball' deploys wah wahs and punchy drums to round us out in style.
